In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among magical creatures from all walks of life. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, in order for their dragon overseer to reclaim his own magic and find his missing siblings. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Fortunately, though, it seems that your kitchen is stocked with ingredients. Enough to make a pie, at least! Most of the village shops are currently closed due to the bad weather, so it seems like socialising with your neighbours might be your best shot at finding something to do.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. Perhaps the board will urge you to find some fellow people who are in a similar situation as you. The cold weather might inspire you to go fishing in the river canals, have a snowball fight, make warm drinks for people, get active in the kitchen or go sledding!

Or, just ... do whatever you want! This is your magical home now, might as well make the most of it!

While wandering through the village, you suddenly hear a voice appear out of nowhere. "Help ..." The voice speaks, rather ominously, which might alarm you. "Turn around ..." It says again, which may send shivers down your spine that aren't related to the cold. "Now, come closer. No, closer. Closer!" Jeez! You know this place is filled with magical creatures, but what on earth is taunting you at the moment? You can't see anything! There's just a Snowman in front of you.

"Hello." Wait, did that Snowman just--? "I am a Snowman." He did. He talked to you.

"I am lonely. Please build me some friends." Well, it's not like you have anything better to do ... "I will give you a reward if you do. Come to me when you have built, and I will give you a reward." Seems simple enough. You almost walk away to get started, until--

"HOLD IT!" He yells, very loudly for a Snowman. "You must use teamwork to build a Snowperson. The best Snowpeople are made with friends. Find a friend and build a Snowperson for me. Thank you."

Well, there you have it! You have been tasked with finding someone to build a Snowperson with. And of course, because these Snowfolk are magic, they're going to be quite particular about how they want to be built. They may berate you and act fussy during the process. You must divide the work between you and your acquaintance in order to complete your Snowperson. Get creative with hats, scarves, shapes, face designs - and whatever else you think the Snowperson should have!

Your final result will produce either an immaculate (or terrible) Snowtyke, Snowboy, Snowmam or Snowman who will reward you both with a random piece of winter furniture and an extra surprise!

In Finnish mythology, it is believed that the Northern Lights (Revontulet) are the creation of a fox who runs across the night sky. In Fable, this very same fox is the one responsible for the Northern Lights of their skies - and while he spends a lot of his time away from the realm to decorate the skies of many other places, he returns every Winter for a fantastic show (and incredible party!)

To celebrate his return, Fable's residents gather in Skáld to host a ball and have a big party beneath the lights. And you have been invited! No need to worry about travel - with your magical invitation, you can be poofed there in an instant! In an act of generosity, the Fox of the Northern Lights has temporarily given you a dose of his magic in order for you to join in the fun! While the party is ongoing, you will have a glowing pair of aurora wings which allow flight, a dazzling new outfit, an immunity to the cold, and the ability to create aurora streaks in the sky!

The moment you accept the invitation and arrive in Skáld, the magical effects from the Aurora Fox will activate! Shimmering sparkles will envelope you before you find yourself wearing a brand new outfit and accessories for the evening, and they really are very sparkly! Your floating aurora wings spawn behind you in any colour, and just like that, you're ready for the party! Don't worry about the outfit you were wearing prior to this, it has been transported back to your wardrobe in your cottage. With magic, of course!

The party runs for a few days, and it's a lot bigger than you imagined. Just how many mythological creatures are attending? You and the otherwordly attendees will be staying in a nearby wooden lodge that has been upscaled with magic in order to accommodate its large guests. The lodge has spacious rooms, complimentary meals, and even a heated outdoor pool!

The party itself takes place on a mountain adjacent to the lodge with an outdoor ballroom, Troll DJs playing through the night (with both upbeat and slow music), a bonfire, a food buffet and a bar!

Fancy a drink? There are cocktails and mocktails being served all night by the Troll bartenders! Who knew Trolls were so good at mixing drinks? Cocktails and mocktails are exactly the same in taste, except mocktails don't have any alcohol in them. If your character doesn't like to drink, they can still enjoy the tasty beverage without getting drunk!

Regardless of alcohol content, however, each drink will have a funny effect on the person consuming it.
Pink Pixie will make people feel more flirty and sensual, Minty Manticore will make people hyperactive and chatty, Blue Bunyip will give them a case of the blues by inspiring a little bit of sadness, and Purple Pegasus will make them sentimental and emotional.

Jean Tannen - The Gentleman Bastards Series

1. Let the breath from the mountain still the pain [Arrival - The Kitchen]
On the one hand, Jean is horrified to find himself in a strange environment without his left hand best friend garrista...without Locke Lamora. On the other hand, there's some tiny part of him that is taken with the idea of building a life that isn't wholly based in deception and thievery. So, for the moment he's going to play along, make friends, and figure out what he's doing here. And one of the quickest ways to make friends will be to make use of the kitchen in his cottage.

While the ingredients might have originally been intended for a pie, Jean finds himself remembering a tarte tatin recipe for pears that he'd been taught as a young man under the tutelage of the blind lying priest, Father Chains. Anyone walking outside Jean's cottage will be able to smell the roasty warm caramel notes and spices he's mixed into the dough. It's heavenly, and a level of delicate precision most people expect from a man of his size. Or perhaps you're one of the lucky ones to catch him when he brings the tarte out into the world to share with those he encounters.


2. Clear water from the fountain [Aurora Ball - Around the Lounge]
Jean's startled to have wings, but the new outfit startles him almost as much, the green brocade jacket well-matched to the tones of green that keep shimmering through his large, vaguely crystalline wings (they remind him of Elderglass, but no one else here knows what that is, surely). He clearly isn't used to anything at all on his back, and has a habit of bumping into people and furniture when he turns--though he's always quick to apologize and offer a sheepish smile, pushing his glasses up his nose.

When he's not in his room, he can be spotted eyeing works of art or furniture, trying to compare the local styles to anything at all he knows. Or one might find him at the heated pool, though it may take a little work to persuade him to do more than take his shoes off, roll up the cuffs of his trousers and dip his feet in the water.


3. Runs sweeter than the rain [Aurora Ball - At the Party]
Yet another lesson that Father Chains imparted on his wayward children: how to dance. Ladies, in particular, may find themselves approached by this broad, bespectacled man with more grace than they might initially expect. While the style of dance he learned in Camorr may not mesh exactly with anyone else's, he's glad to try to figure something out; he works to show off his partner's skills, rather than trying to demand attention for himself.

And off the dance floor, it seems he's gotten into the cocktails; he's halfway through the Purple Pegasus when its effect on his emotions hits. Surely no one will notice if he steps out toward the bonfire when he feels a little maudlin. Right?


4. Dogs in midwinter [Wildcard]

Usagi is walking along, just minding her own business when her nose smells something absolutely out of this world. Part of her is hopeful that the chef will be someone she knows. After all Makoto's food always smells amazing like this too. So what does she do?

She tracks down the smell. She's got a good nose and finding the source of the scent proves to be no issue for her... after a little wandering around anyway. Which means she arrives right in time for it's grand unveiling.

"That's beautiful! And it smells amazing! Did you make it?"

Because while she tries, Usagi's cooking skills are barely above the basics. So anyone who cooks well really has her admiration.

Malleus Draconia || Twisted Wonderland (did this on my phone please forgive autocorrect fails)

[Arrival]

[ As with everyone else, Malleus had seen the message board, and with little else to do went about fishing. It was the closest thing to hunting, even if it was a painfully easy task.

At least it was for him, being a dragon and all.

So anyone also fishing, or just enjoying the beach wild find a large black dragon resting by the waters edge. Occasionally spitting flames at the surface causing it to steam and boil. Dead fish would float to the surface after, he’d stare at them… and then promptly eat them.

Next time he thinks to himself. Next time will be for the mission board and he will not eat them (he is absolutely going to continue to eat them).]

[Snowmen]

[Malleus was truly moved by the snow creature’s lack of friends, he too was a rare species and also lacked friends! So he would be happy to help solve this grave problem!

Or he would have been, if the snow creature was being incredibly fussy and unfair about what could be considered a friend!

The closest thing he had to a friend was his gao gao drago-kun, but the snow creature did not think such could be consisted a friend.

Long story short, Malleus was spending an obscene amount of time trying to argue that his tamogachi was his friend and therefore should count towards snowman building! Feel free to interrupt them otherwise he’ll probably keep arguing until the snowman melts.]

[While he remained on the outskirts of the festivities, Malleus looked quite pleased. He was invited! No idea what any of this was about, but he had been INVITED.

Though he certainly did not look like he fit in. His outfit, while indeed sparkly, was black and adorned with black feathers. As for the wings, he neglected the magical ones in favor of his own wings. He didn’t often summon them in his humanoid form, as dragon appendages in enclosed spaces tended to be a recipe for disaster… but for the sake of the party he decided it was worth it.

So there he was, looking like an evil wizard and smiling to himself watching everything.]

[ Instead of immediately intervening, Xingqiu opts to watch a man argue with a talking snowman. It's not a common sight so forgive his trepidation about approaching the odd pair; fortunately, he is curious enough that he doesn't quickly decide that he wants no part in that. So standing a few paces away means the snowman finally takes notice of his presence. Rather than continue to argue it would point (about as well as a snowman can point with sticks for limbs) at Xingqiu.

Calling him a friend of the man argumentative isn't even a leap when this is the first time they've laid eyes on each other. ]

Unfortunately, that assumption is incorrect, we aren't evenly formally acquainted.

[ He should have just said no we're not friends and quickly cleared up any misunderstandings that may arise but that may have come off as far too rude... ]

[ well. this isn't the first time that tighnari has awakened to find himself in a new world.. and this one is far, far nicer than the last one he'd occupied. all he can do is sigh, and take some time to get to know the space around him. it feels.. freeing, relieving, to be away from reverie at last, and yet he can't help but worry for the teammates and friends left behind there. but there's no way back, nothing to be done for it but to continue forward, and hope they find their way here, as well.

so he takes some time to settle in, but soon enough tighnari is wandering the village, carrying a tray of steaming hot cocoa. his tall, furry ears are pressed downward by the knitted hat he's wearing, and his fluffy green tail is puffed out to keep warm, but otherwise he's comfortable. tighnari is used to balmy weather, but he'd grown used to the snow in reverie, and he certainly prefers the cold to the heat.

at any rate, if you're looking a little chilly, he's quick to approach. ]

Hot cocoa?

snowman - it doesn't have to be a snowman;

[ okay, so.. he's not terribly excellent at this. tighnari can't say that he's ever built a snowman in his life, he doesn't know the first thing about it, he certainly doesn't know that you're meant to roll snow up in balls to make the building process easier.

so instead, he's just.. piled up a blob of misshapen snow in a shape vaguely like this, though he hasn't added any decorations at all. standing back, tighnari observes it with a frown, one hand raised to his chin, his tail flicking back and forth in consternation. it looks hideous, so far. he's a good artist, but apparently that doesn't apply to creating snow structures. ]

Hmm.. I think there's something wrong with my fundamental technique..

[ it actually wasn't so long ago that tighnari was roped into attending a winter themed ball, so this is all feeling a little bit familiar to him, but nevertheless, he arrives in his fancy new clothes, decked out in creamy ivories and flashing golds and pale, familiar greens. he keeps his signature earring, but a few more gold cuffs have been added, along with thin golden chains that wrap his tail like filigree. it's all.. surprisingly comfortable, and easy to move around in, which is what he's most grateful for, tbh. his aurora wings look something like this.

at any rate, he's a little tense. if this place is like reverie, anything could happen at any time, and part of tighnari is just waiting for the other shoe to drop, but the shoe never comes. at least, not here, not tonight. perhaps another time..

he can be found occasionally dancing, or sitting with his notebook open, sketching the flowers that decorate the table, or perusing the drinks, trying to decide which one to imbibe.. it's a difficult choice!! will you approach, or perhaps wait for him to approach you, muttering something about flavors? ]

[Why is he stuck with this guy, why did he agree to building a snowman with this guy, this guy seemed like he knew what he was doing, this guy seemed like he had his shit together, but now here they are. Here they are, staring at a snow lump.

Jamil Viper is from a desert and yet he's sure he can do better than A Snow Lump.

And the worst part is that there's nobody around who can rein him in, so.]

It's terrible.

[A lifetime of customer service in the form of acting as a retainer and servant, dealing with prissy VIPs and Kalim, flushed down the drain all at once. He's got a lot of feelings. Decent amount of stress. Unsure where to put them.]

I wouldn't have thought it was an attempt at a snowman if you hadn't just implied as much.

[A message board like this is something he's familiar with. The last one he kept up several "lively" arguments between a few certain people with the occasional commission or task. So far, this message board has yet to meet the same fate of the one in Sumeru. He starts muttering to himself.]

Fishing, cooking, or snowball fights, huh...

⛄ SNOWFOLK:

[It's not everyday a snowman speaks to him (he'll have to tell Eula and Albedo about this) so he listens to the request. It sounds to him like the snowman just offered him a commission, and he's not going to turn it down. It'll be a good way to understand and maybe get more insight into this new world.

Only is, he doesn't have a partner, so he looks around to see anyone nearby so he could ask. Hopefully it won't take too long to find someone - it's rather cold and Aether's not the best with the cold.

As he looks around, he spots someone, maybe? He approaches, ready to get started.]

🌬️ NORTHERN LIGHTS:

[This world continues to surprise him, but he's pleasantly surprised to have a pair of golden wings again and to top it off a flashy outfit. He can't help but try to get some practice in. There's something amusing about how he's flying while wearing such an outfit. It's a little more restricting than what he's used to, but flying comes back to him with no issues at all.

At least he thinks so. He gets a little distracted and ends up making a bit of a crash landing. At least he stopped himself from crashing in front of the person before him. The snow cushions is fall rather well so he should be all right. Maybe?]

🎉 AURORA BALL:

[At the ball, such a variety of drinks and their colors are interesting. It reminds him of when he practiced and learned about bartending back in Mondstadt. There's so many different drinks with so many colors. If Paimon were here, he bets she'd tell him to try them all.

He's not going to try them all, so left in thought and speaking aloud, he wonders.]

Which one should I try? They all look so unique and vibrant.

Hm. That's a question to consider let's see. Aside from their appearance, they also have distinctive names.

[ Allow him a moment as he contemplates each option; the drinks are all different in color which he wonders if that is an indicator of their flavor, finally, he does give the traveler Aether an answer. ]

How about if you try the Minty Manticore? It is the only one whose name seems to suggest its flavor. Unless, of course, minty is only describing its appearance.

[ He could hang around and question true motives, what effects losing a fragment of their soul has on a person or even wonder what he truly is. What does being a new self mean entirely and could he possibly interact with the self who still resides back in Teyvat? Or he could just settle in and check out his new residence. Yeah, he is going to go ahead and do that first. Maybe he'll find the time to ponder things thoroughly later. Maybe.

It turns out that his brand new, cozy, cute little cottage came lightly furnished. This leaves him to question what exactly is he supposed to do with the cardboard box he finds inside, even if it turns out to be surprisingly sturdy. Fortunately, the kitchen came fully stocked; unfortunately, there were far too many carrots for his liking. Those would immediately be wrapped and his first thought is to get rid of them but as he heads outside he spots someone close by. ]

Good morning, neighbor.

Please take these as a welcome gift.

[ Might as well kill two birds with one stone, right? Curry favor with his new neighbor and get rid of these abominations. ]

[ Cold weather, enough to cause snowfall — Xingqiu cannot help but to think of his dearest friend whom he knows would enjoy the cool temperature. Right, cool temperatures which he probably isn't dressed to handle but he isn't going to let that bother him this isn't Dragonspine after all and there is no Sheer Cold meter. He may have continued along his way, exploring his new home until he meets the Snowman. The very demanding Snowman.

It was rather picky about the creation of its new friends. Xingqiu was sure he could manage it on his own but any attempts to do so causes it to immediately protest so he relents. To his luck, someone happens to be coming down the path so he attempts to get their attention. ]

Good afternoon.

If I am not disturbing you, this gentleman— [ He points toward the snowman behind him with an elegant movement of his arm, the snowman for its part corrects Xingqiu that he is no gentleman but a snowman ( and even manages to give him an odd look despite the limited decorations that make up its face). That does cause Xingqiu to glance back, and repress a sigh as he is only trying to assist here before speaking once more. ] Yes, this Snowman is in need of some assistance.

You see it is in need of some company. Snow people company to be precise. If you have the time would you be willing to help me in making him some friends?

[ With the invitation in hand, he never got a real chance to consider if he accepted joining everyone in the celebration — this is very much like his birthday parties. So perhaps the Fox of the Northern Lights wants to play the role of his father or older brother? In any case, he arrives via magical invitation and already donning his new outfit there is no point in rejecting the summons.

For the most, if among strangers he will remain polite and sociable; accepting to dance with just about anyone, and no matter the skill he would attempt to offer compliments. Otherwise, he can be found near a buffer table with a moderate amount of food on his plate mostly consisting of sweets. ]

[ While this is a rather peculiar sight (so many carrots!), she can't let such generosity remain unanswered for too long. ]

Good morning. Are these all carrots from your kitchen? Are you sure you don't want to leave a few for yourself?

[ Nahida might not be aware of the animosity between him and the carrots yet, but Xingqiu is being way too generous still. It doesn't feel fair to just take the carrots without offering something in return. ]

A - The Dragon Queen's Arrival 🐉

[Back on the dragon isles she is recovering from some rather serious injuries from her current conflict. And in the throws of this recovery she is met with fairies. She has known many types but not quite like these but she understands why they came to her. She is, after all, the Dragon Queen and there are dragons here that are in a terrible bind.

And though these are not her kin if she is able to help without leaving her duties on Azeroth then she will do just that.

And now she's here...

Alexstrasza rolls an apple in her hands, her long nails gently scratching along the fruit's surface. To be frank... she's not sure which she should pick. Probably best to go with her own element which would be an orange. She's not terribly sure how this world is going to interact with her and the great ancient magic she possesses. More curiously than the fruit in hand is the device that she's been given. Setting the apple down for the moment she plucks the phone back up. Her eyes narrow some as she pokes at the buttons. It's like some sort of Gnome or Goblin technology just... neater. Not gaudy or dirty to the touch.]

This is a bit more complicated in ways I did not expect, admittedly. [She speaks to no one really. Just murmuring to herself. The adornments attached to her horns chime softly as she shakes her head. Her nails tapping at the screen.] Admittedly I expected to find myself in combat right away. Not- [Her gaze sweeps over this place.] -any of this.

B - I'm an Aspect not a Farmer 🐉

[It's not necessarily a problem but in her dragon form... she's bigger than the cottage. She looks down at the little home she's supposed to be residing in and lets out a soft snort. Farming is it? She may may be have misunderstood what she's supposed to be doing here just a little bit. She came here ready to fight and to help fellow dragons but... She pads over to the patch of land she should be cultivating. Would it be in poor spot to use her life binding powers to just make things grow?

Maybe a little...

She looks this way and that and spots one her neighbors.]

Excuse me! [She calls out and makes her way over to her neighbor's farm, carefully stepping over the fence that separates their lands with her big dragon legs. She even has to continue to be mindful with her big tail which she lifts and then carefully sets down once on the other side.] Forgive my intrusion... I had a question or two about all this farming and was hoping you had better knowledge than myself. I would like to do it properly instead of using my powers. That may ruin the spirit of it all.

[It's just your big dragon neighbor asking for farming advice and if using her powers would be cheating.]

C - Ballad of the Northern Lights 🐉

Alexstrasza would much rather stretch her wings and make her way their on her own. She takes to the sky in her dragon form and soars through the sky. The sight of the Northern Lights is painfully nostalgic and reminds her of her time spent in the Wyrmrest Temple where she spent much time with her flight and her consort, dear Korialstrasz.

The Dragon Queen perches herself upon a high peak, watching the lights and those that are creating them. It seems the Fae here have given the humans the power to do this as well. It's quite adorable how they laugh and play. She's far too used to war and conflict with the mortal races of the land.

Perhaps she's feeling a bit of whimsy but she opens her great wings once more and lifts off to join the mortal races in the air.]

How are you enjoying taking to the skies, little ones?

[Mindful of her much larger form in the sky and how the beat of her wings could send someone flying she settles for a gentle glide or as close to one as she can manage while staying in the air.]

D - Dancing Through Life 🐉

[Done flying around with the others she lands at the party and when she transforms back she finds herself in a stunning gown. Alexstrasza is taken aback for a moment, opening the folds of the dress. Some of her gold adornments are still there. The usual trinkets on her horn. Her crown has been replaced by a different style one.

She places a hand to her chest feeling... Well, she's not sure. She's never really dressed up before. Her most recent attire for taking back her home is probably some of the nicest armor she's ever adorned. She is a dragon, after all. She has no need for too much mortal attire but this is quite lovely.

Perhaps as the Dragon Queen she should display a sense of regalness that all these new faces and this current land might need from her and in that particular case she can oblige. She finally releases the fistfuls of her dress and smooths it out.

It's nice, isn't it? To go to a party and to dress like a royal queen as seen in the mortal storybooks. There's something whimsical about it. If only Sindragosa or Ysera could see her now. If only they could join her in this fun little venture.

It takes her a moment to realize she's being talked to and she shakes her head waving a hand.]

My apologies, I fear I don't know the steps. But thank you.

So naturally she has agreed to come. Daddy had done so much to help others and now she can to. Iris Watson is on the case!

First things first. Fruit! And it's simply terrible. She can't decide on just one. Blueberries? Peaches? Apple? Banana!?!? She is leaning towards peach. But... blueberries!! She wiggles with a bit of indecisiveness. Why can't she just pick all of them?

If she knew what other people were picking she could pick the least popular one so that all fruit had a chance to be spread about.]

Excuse me! [She gently taps the person beside her.] What fruit were you considering? I fear I'm utterly overwhelmed by choices.

B - Yes, I Want to Build a Snowman

A snowman that must be built with friends. Yes. That makes perfect sense! She nods in understanding and at once hurries off to find some unsuspecting person walking by.]

Excuse me! [She calls out waving you down and once she has your attention she gives a polite curtsy.] I'm ever so sorry to bother but there are some adorable snowman that are in dire need of rebuilding and I simply cannot do it alone. So please come help.

[Isn't her cute little face impossible to deny? She even clasps her hands together looking at you with big pleading eyes.]

Please? I'll make you a most delicious cup of tea once we're done. Something that will warm you up right away.

C - A ball! We're going to a ball!

[Iris has her hands on her cheeks as she looks at herself in this wonderful dress. It's lovely. Like something one of the princesses of the royal family would wear.

Now, she never wants for anything in Daddy's house and she makes quite a bit of money with her books but she never imagined she'd ever have a dress like this. This feels like something she'd wear to one of Barry's fancy work parties.

She does a happy little spin, watching the dress twirl about. Well. How lovely! Utterly delighted by her gown she hurries out to the party. Now, a girl her age shouldn't be helping herself to any of the cocktails even though they look so very pretty and tasty. Instead she gets herself some juice and small sandwiches which are quite tasty.]

I've never been dancing. [She admits to the person next to her brushing any crumbs off her silky white gloves.] But it looks quite fun. I've noticed most people here are adults which would be quite difficult to dance with, I think. [She's not let out, just making an observation.] Have you had a chance to dance yet?

He doesn't notice Iris at all, in fact, until she's speaking to him directly. When she does, he turns, expression attentive.

I. An Arduous Task (Arrival)

It wasn't far into G'raha's stay that he was approached by a very stressed large bird simply named 'Mrs. Sparrow'. Who was he to question it? Besides, she looked to be in some trouble, and without a thought offered to aid her in some way. That was when G'raha Tia became a babysitter.

"Just for the day!" She insisted, but he insisted in kind that it would be no trouble. The only odd part of the conversation- in his opinion- was that Mrs. Sparrow had heard from someone that he had experience with caring for children and would be a good fit as temporary caretaker. The fae must have told her...? Truly, he knew better than to underestimate the fae after his own experience, but-

So his afternoon was spent trying to wrangle three chatty sparrowlings who wondered why his cottage was so 'naked', what sort of games they could play until Mama got back, and when dinner was.

Dinner...? Oh no. Dinner. Sparrows fed on insects, if he recalled. Was he to catch a few grubs? Dig for worms? Did they eat them raw as they did in nature, or did he have to- gods- cook them somehow?

G'raha clenched his fists. He would figure this out. He had his bumpy road in the beginning caring for Lyna, but he had in turn learned a great deal. He searched his cupboards, usually filled to the brim with offerings thanks to the fae, and wondered if he could make a pot pie of some kind out of... bugs.

"Alright... let's see- why don't we all go outside and do some treasure hunting? The one who finds the biggest, tastiest bugs wins!" Competitions were the ticket, driving a child to do their absolute best. In bird world, perhaps it would teach them to be more reliable hunting for their own food as they grew.

Any in the neighborhood would be treated to a show of three bird children digging away at the frosty soil, joined by G'raha Tia on his hands and knees, digging as best as he could as well.

Perhaps he needs some help.


II. Rollin', rollin', rollin'... (Snowpeople)

Being shouted at by a snowman was new, actually. Elementals in his world were primarily sprites of floating shape and aether that turned aggressive in a blink. At the very least, he was glad not to be pelted with ice for his indiscretion.

At first, he was prepared to draw his staff and work a little magic into shaping the perfect snow person to start he and his partner off on the right track. It would be a simple enough task, coaxing the snow into the proper shape before finding a few bits and bobs to form the face.

...But where was the fun in that? Really?

After a stretch, he began to roll up his sleeves and offered a grin to his partner in this snow-shaping endeavor.

"Well! No time like the present! I'll start rolling the body into shape. Would you like to handle the head or find some face parts?"


III. Bridgerton Jokes Allowed (Aurora Ball)

He would have been rude to deny an invitation to a ball. They sounded like a wonderful time. A rush of magic and moving elsewhere wasn't entirely foreign to him, but it still took him by surprise. Shock came again when he looked down at himself and found his usual clothing gone: Someone had somehow had him fitted while he blinked, and he was now dressed in white fineries. The tail of his long coat fanned as he quickly turned to try and look down the back and check everything out.

Wings!? When did something give him wings!? The multifaceted- as crystal cut and shaped by a goldsmith- appendages fluttered in his newfound shock. His boots were wonderful, light, formal and comfortable, and his hair clips had changed to a soft gold to fit the little flourishes and accompaniments embroidered and sewn with care into his fine suit and coat.

Well. That answers the question of what he would bear to a ball. But, no, please, what are the wings for? Could he fly if he tried?

He was a rather sorry-looking faerie tale prince, gaping at his wings and appearing very distracted. Give him a moment, and perhaps he'll finally read the room...

[It takes a little bit for Usagi to trust that this isn't fully a dream. That everything she's experiencing is actually real. But when it does? Honestly, she's psyched! The cottage she's shown to is cuter than anything she could have dreamed, mostly because it's real. Sure, things are a little bare now, but she's happy to work to make this place as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.

Her first order of business is to explore her new neighborhood. She's lived in the same area of Tokyo for as long as she can remember and while she's ventured outside of it, it's never been for very long. People are free to have her bump into them as she scampers around all bundled up with her nose and cheeks flushes brightly pink from the cold. Alternatively, once she's gotten cold and her stomach has started rumbling she'll head back home. Leaving the door open, Usagi doesn't believe in stranger danger, Usagi sets about making a simple fruit crumble. That she, inevitably burns because she's gotten distracted by her phone, but only a little. It's still edible and she'll happily share it with anyone who asks.]

II. Flaring up pieces in the air (Snowmen)

[A talking snowman! Usagi's only seen that sort of thing in books and movies, but here they're actually real. Honestly, this place couldn't impress Usagi more if it tried. Because everything is already this magical, whimsical wonderland. Like her dreams, but somehow better. Even if she does have to cook for herself, which is a bit of a downgrade from her dream fantasy-land, but well, nowhere can be perfect. So at the Snowman's request she goes on a search. Approaching people with reckless abandon. She's not even going to introduce herself just yet. That can be done while they're doing the important work.]

Hi! I know we just met, but... do you want to build a snowman?

III. To show a fairy starfall (ballad of the northern lights)

[This isn't the first or even second time she's had wings. But it's probably the first time Usagi's really gotten to enjoy them. So for a while she can be found zipping around the sky painting pretty trails of aurora glow in her wake and having a good time. But the chances of her bumping into someone? Fairly high. She's going pretty fast and while she's not new to flying, she's not exactly that experienced either.]

IV. I want no tomorrow or yesterday (aurora ball)

[Despite any mishaps earlier, Usagi is on her best behavior at the ball. Wearing a beautiful dress of pink and white, with delicate matching fairy wings, Usagi feels every inch the princess she's supposed to be. Does that change her behavior? No, not really. Especially once she gets a Minty Manticore mocktail in her system. A mocktail specifically, because she's already gotten drunk once before. That was more than enough for her thanks.]

You look amazing! [Normally pretty bold, Usagi's even more prone to approaching people now. Fortified by a liquid that makes her want to talk even more than she already normally did.] Are you enjoying the ball? Have you had a drink? The mint one was super yummy!

Katsuki is more annoyed than anything else to find himself spirited away to a strange new place. Especially because it's cold here. He hates the cold. It'll take him a while to warm up enough to use his quirk here. So for now he's grumpily trudging through the snow. Better get a feel for the area and make sure it's safe here. Maybe see if there are any familiar faces around.

Quests are nothing particularly new to him. Quests given by snowmen are new though... does he want to build a snowman? Hell no. Is he going to do it anyway? Yes. But he's gonna grumble about it the whole time. Especially because he's supposed to have help.

So the first person he finds is getting him marching towards them. "Oy. You. Come build a snowman with me."

Because that's a totally reasonable demand to make out of the blue.


Aurora Ball:

You know what Katsuki didn't need? Magical, sparkly new suit and wings. They are orange and he hates them, thanks. But there's free food. So he's going to wallflower and eat. And try to pretend he doesn't have wings now.

[ Dain isn't sure what he's supposed to do here?? What is a normal life, he doesn't even remember or recall at this point in his own. So you might find Dain clearing the snow out of the way leading to people's newly acquired cottages. Though every once in a while he does let out a rather worrisome cough. It's nothing, though, this is fine. Once he's had enough of that he'll be wandering the village by himself trying to not look out of place but let's be real here, it's Dain, and this sort of lifestyle isn't exactly one he's used to.

He'll be standing around the message board waiting to see if any familiar faces arrive but if not he'll make idle conversation regardless. ] Have you also just arrived here?

[ The wings affixed to his back are that of a twilight lit sky while wearing his new outfit as well. He doesn't look too awkward but then again Dain can readily blend in if need be. He's sipping on a Pink Pixie cocktail as he sits outside by the nearby bonfire, relaxing and getting settled into this strange new land.

The night sky is the same everywhere it seems but that does little in terms of taking the edge off of Dain's subconscious thoughts that this might be some kind of trap. ]

[ arriving in such a quiet place made sandalphon immediately wonder if there was some kind of hidden secrets lying beneath the surface. but no, it was a simple desire: grow fruits and give them in order to help their dragon lord. simple. easy. so why did it feel… overwhelming? almost impossible to handle. sandalphon had to manage it somehow, he knew that. at least this place had the kindness to allow him to keep his wings. made it easier to do what was required to do on the message board. clear yet snow off someone’s cottage? easy work when he had fire at his disposal.

but then the angel noticed the cottage was made out of wood. not a good idea. so there he stood, eyes on the cottage and trying to think of a way to brush it off without causing too much commotion. the only thing out of place is that this angel doesn’t feel the cold— why else would he only be in regular armor? ]

For now, he's sipping on a non-alcoholic mint drink that's made him even more prone to striking up conversations, nearly reaching Yoimiya-levels of chatter. But he's enjoying getting to know the people he'll be here with for the time being.]

Have you checked out the accommodations they've given us for tonight? Some of it reminds me of the quarters I have back at home, but I would have never imagined having a pool like that in this cold.

Nevermind that, however. What is all this pageantry if not for levity, dance? While she may not know waltzes, she knows folk dances and jigs. [ Ayaka is swept into a gown the likes of which she's never worn before, her long hair tumbling loosely down her shoulders and in between cherry blossom pink aurora wings, the silhouette of which is very much reminiscent of oversized flower petals.

She looks very much both in awe and very much overwhelmed by being here; it's so unlike anything she's ever been to, so far-flung and different from even the grandest of festivals that the Yashiro Commission would hold in her homeland.

But there's something that spells excitement in her eyes, too, while she shyly skirts around the dancefloor, watches people take flight with their wings, and tries all sorts of different foods. She finds herself getting more and more caught up in it, to the point that she might not be paying attention when she bumps into someone. ]

[ He could say that the snow makes him nostalgic, but in, like, a cranky way. Couple that with the fact that he isn't exactly thrilled to be here in the first place, once again pulled away from his own chosen destiny against his will. It seems calm and relatively uneventful in this place so far, but that almost makes him more wary.

Leave it to the Wanderer to make growing fruit a problem.

This being the case, he has kept to himself for the most part, but patience isn't exactly his strong suit, and there's only so long he can remain in his cottage without going stir-crazy. The snow has been getting on his nerves, so - what, he'll get some kind of boon if he clears some away?

Whatever. It can't hurt to try.

Harnessing the power of his Vision, he summons a blade of wind to slam into a snow-covered path. It's rather effective at clearing the snow, but, uh, if you happen to be nearby, you might be a snowman now. Sorry (but not actually sorry at all)! ]

At first he said nothing, thinking over his next actions very carefully. He was not so good in such situations, and had never had to comfort someone before. But from his time among the humans he at least gathered that many did not like to be perceived in such a state, so he kept his gaze forward. Not perceiving. Nope. And slightly shifting the bulk of his natural bat-like wings to obscure the one next to him.

After a brief time of this not fixing the situation, he finally found it in him to speak.]

Away With the Fairies; Light Endwalker 6.2 Spoilers

[Tsubaki knew a thing or two about the Fae folk. She was quite familiar with them, thanks to her travels. Whether it be her time in the First, or Feo Ul -- whom she was certain was more than likely going to be furious once they find out she's been taken here -- hearing stories about the Fae stealing people away wasn't exactly off the beaten path. Not that any of them had any ill intentions beyond wanting playthings. Unless you were the Eulmoran army in days past, they only meant a little mischief.

Having met Prism and hearing his plea, there was something in her that couldn't help but hear him out. She didn't need her arm twisted, by any means, but the whole thing seemed similar to searching for Vrtra's sister, Azdaja. But just like any other person here, she was likely the same in regards to wondering what was going on with her body back home if she was still there. She seemed to be functioning fine back home and though it was not like the time spent in the First for the Scions, she had to wonder if this would cause a strain on her soul. Surely her dense soul would be able to withstand the time away, but for how long? Questions she chose not to ask so as to not cause more stress for Prism.

Besides, before her treasure hunt led to something much bigger (so much for a break), she had planned to step away from the title and role of "Warrior of Light." With the Scions "disbanded" and leaving their legacy to the people, surely this was her chance to step away without any dire consequences. This could be the break she was looking for. Growing magical fruit to help Prism find his siblings didn't seem too bad.

So she decided to simply adjust and see what this fabled cottage of hers was like. She had never owned any real estate herself, so this was something that was new to her. If she was being honest, she was excited deep down to have a place she could call her own home. A place she could settle down in, for a time. What she saw was pretty underwhelming with only an oil lamp, a cardboard box, some device she hadn't seen before (some king of radio?), and a bed, but she would rather look at the upside here. In time, she could turn this into a place she was proud of.

After looking into her housing situation, she decided to wander around a little bit. Take in her surroundings and possibly meet her neighbors. Given the setting and the variety of races here, she couldn't have stood out too much. For those who were not as familiar with the variety of races themselves, her horns and long tail with jewelry dangling at the tip may seem pretty strange.

If eye contact is met, she'll glance over to your character with a timid smile and a soft wave.]

[Now that she had her fill of wandering and socializing with other people, Tsubaki decided to take a further look at what she arrived with. There were a number of things to use and plenty of opportunities to go with them, but one such thing stood out to her immediately. Much to her dismay...]

And here I thought I wouldn't find tomestones here. By the Twelve, they seem to be everywhere. But these seem to be more popular than the ones I'm used to back home.

[Not that she really took the time to use one past the basic functions.]

Though I have to admit, these do seem to have some useful tools for them. And they're customizable. Are these kinds of communication devices common in your respective worlds?

[For someone who doesn't seem to use these much, she seems to have no trouble texting.]

Unwinding;

[Now that Tsubaki got her mild complaining out of the way about the tomestone-looking device, it was time to finally check out the other things that can be done here. She's looking to try what she can, so she can be found in various locations.

Fishing wasn't a wholly new hobby of hers, but it certainly wasn't something she'd spent enough time on to call her a true fisher. If anything, she was more gifted in weaving together outfits. She had fished previously while trying to get by in Kugane, but now that there was a fishing pole in her possession and bait, she decided to give it a try just because she had the time to now. Having time to spare for herself was a rare commodity for her and she intended to take full advantage of that while she was here.

By a riverbank, you could see her sitting along the side, waiting patiently while that fish inched closer. It was fairly quiet with not much to do, but the peace and quiet felt nice. Feeling a bite, she reeled it in only to find it was not at all the fish she was eyeing, but an old boot instead. With a sigh, she took it off the hook and set it off to the side. That's when she noticed that someone had either approached her or had been there for a while and she hadn't even taken notice. Giving a sheepish smile...]

How is that even possible? It certainly has been a long time since I've last attempted this. It's harder than it looks. [A pause.] And you? I hope you're having better luck than I am.

[After some time, she could be found with a snowball or two. Was that a dangerous glint in her eyes? It must be your imagination. Certainly. That snowball hitting you in the back though? Certainly not her doing.

After a few snowball fights and perhaps some sledding, she decided to call it to warm up a bit. As fun as they might have been, Tsubaki had never been good with the cold. Growing up in a warmer climate ocean, she had been much more sensitive to the cold. She might have been a little reckless in her endeavors and she was most certainly not dressed for the occasion. So warm drinks were certainly the next course of action. Warming up by a fireplace and drinking hot cocoa warmed the soul, if not causing her a slight bit of sorrow due to past experiences. Anyone is free to join her and keep her company.]

Snow Shiva;

[After letting herself warm up a bit, Tsubaki found herself trying to find supplies to make a good snowman. Why? Because a snowman pleaded to make him some friends. If that sounds weird to you guys, it was because it was weird, even for Tsubaki. He had offered a reward for her assistance, but she needed no such bribery to offer a helping hand. The problem was that she needed someone to help her under the snowman's terms. So if your character is looking down and a little bit lonely, she'll approach you with a friendly smile and a hand extended.]

Are you busy? I could use a little help building some snowmen if you're willing to help. [With an awkward scratch gesture to her chin...] You see it's... part of his terms that I find another to assist me. How about it?

[He did say she required teamwork, so she may as well try to help someone else who may not be doing the best with a distraction.]

Dance the Night Away;

[In Tsubaki's experience, no extravegant party went off without a hitch. She had not been to many celebrations herself, but the bloody banquet made her and the Scions fugitives for a time. The Northern Lights were beautiful, and while she had no spare clothing -- much less anything fancy on hand -- she had not expected to be transported to a ball with her attire changed for the occasion. She had never worn something so fancy before, not even during her times with the troupe. It was truly dazzling with her hair in light curls and her Elpis flower in her hair. With a necklace and heels as equally as dazzling, the most eye-catching thing was likely the new colorful wings that shined with light. The cold she felt previously had instantly gone away and she felt like she could take to the air. Surely these wings were just decoration.

A thought she could entertain another time. For now, she was more interested in this ball. Walking with no troubles in her heels, there were a number of things to check out. The DJ was playing a variety of music. The dancer in her would have certainly taken to the dance floor without hesitation, but mayhap a new scene with little to no familiar faces saw to that slight hesitation. For the time being, she chose to wallflower, instead watching the others enjoy their time on the dance floor. If offered to dance, she felt no hesitation in accepting her company's hand.

Away from the dancefloor after some time, she decided to check out the food buffet and bar. They seemed to also offer non-alcoholic drinks, but she decided to give a few of them a chance. Though not all of them were alcoholic, people could find her sampling the various types.

Trying a Pink Pixie cocktail, she felt more inclined to give compliment those around her. And what was some harmless flirting here or there? Flirting could be fun and innocent enough. Meanwhile, if those had caught her while trying a Minty Manticore cocktail, they might be there for a while if they let her talk their ear off. She later switched to some mocktails instead, feeling much more sentimental and emotional after drinking the Purple Pegasus and in turn sadness with the Blue Bunyip. Gods. She had plenty of sad stories she could tell. Stories that she was not normally so eager to talk about. Guess who hadn't noticed what caused her to be so loose-lipped just yet? Or was that the alcohol she had consumed talking? Who knew?]

[ Arriving here might seem like a blessing to some, yet for jaded Vanitas it's nothing of the sort. A brand new life, free of the burdens of the past. That's too good to be true and he's absolutely sure that the price they'll have to pay will be much more than some fruits. There's so little he can do about it, though. Going with the flow sounds to be the only option for the time being and if he's lucky, the Fae will make a misstep and reveal their true intentions.

Standing in front of the message board, Vanitas goes through the task list and scoffs a laugh. He expects to meet a lot of strangers here, and if they think they can become friends with him, they have another thing coming. Nonetheless, he decides to try acting civil when someone comes closer to examine the board. ]

I have a proposition. I'll throw a snowball at you which most definitely counts as a snowball fight, and then you'll clear the snow from my cottage.

[ Watching a Snowman come to life and talk is truly an experience. It's hard not to laugh when he mentions being lonely and building friends. It's so pathetic, yet Vanitas listens to it all.

Well, almost. When the Snowman promises him a reward, Vanitas is quick to notice that he's opening his mouth real wide and he's most likely about to start yelling. To prevent the Snowman from doing that, Vanitas grabs his carrot nose and sticks it in his mouth. ]

I can't hear you. I only got the part about building you some friends and something about a reward, so I'll be off.

[ This is how you deal with annoying Snowpeople. ]

[ A social gathering is also a great opportunity to snoop around. Wearing his new outfit, the courtesy of the Aurora Fox and dark blue wings on his back, Vanitas hopes to find some conclusive evidence that this is some kind of a ploy prepared by the Fae and other mythical creatures... at least until he finds the Troll bartenders. After hearing him talk for a while, they recommend him Blue Bunyip and Purple Pegasus, so... Vanitas goes for Pink Pixie. As if he would listen to some trolls.

What he doesn't know is that they made it a bit more potent to punish him for the rude remarks. ]

A. Arrival:

[ Fable is already a great deal colder - and snowier - than the city Caelas left behind before arriving here. Then again, it had only been mid-autumn back in Waterdeep, so this... was an abrupt change. And one he wasn't entirely happy with, since he wasn't exactly a fan of the cold in general.

But as disorienting as the change was, he was attempting to make the best of it for the moment - if only for the lack of anything better to do. But it's why he can be found wandering around the square (snugly wrapped up in the warm comforter from his own bed from his new cottage) and helping to pass out steaming mugs of warm cider or cocoa a few of the new arrivals have been working at making. His talents do not lie in the kitchen, so he's more than happy to lend a hand here instead. Even he can manage to hand out drinks! ]

Cold? Here, this should help warm you up in no time!

[ Of course, that might keep him entertained for only so long before his more mischievous side peeks out. He's used to creeping around unseen and unheard - might even employ some well-known magic to aid him, in fact - so his targets may not even realize he's there at all.

[ Caelas is no stranger to being bossed around and ordered about. He's not a fan of it, of course - who would be? - but for a bit, he takes it with relative patience and good-natured humor. Although that's quickly wearing thin as the fussy complaints continue on without ceasing and his original partner in this endeavor gets mad and stomps off in a huff.

Not that Cael blames him at all. This is a sad level of masochism, he thinks as he turns to give the grumpy snowfolk still prattling off a list of demands and complaints a Look. And then quickly scans his surroundings, hopefully to find someone he can con into helping him get this finished. ]

[ Caelas is rarely one to pass up a party, and this would be no exception - even if he's not entirely certain what they're supposed to be celebrating? Whatever, it's a party, so he is here, dressed in a festive outfit in blue and white, complete with the shimmering blue wings of light fluttering from his back. Which he finds pretty distracting, if you ask him. But the immunity to the cold is definitely a plus! Because honestly, having a ball outside in the middle of winter is just asking for disaster in his mind.

The lodge hosting them might be his favorite part about all this, though, and he can be found exploring and indulging in the accommodations they offer, relaxing and treating this like the free vacation it seems to be. He's curious about the food they have to offer here and might be eyeing the heated pool with a mixture of skepticism and longing. It is still winter, after all...

Cael tries a variety of the drinks, too, deciding he might want to sample a variety of them, so he could be found throughout the ball with any one of them in his hand. Although as the night wears on, it does seem as if the Pink Pixie has become his favorite among them and his mood has begun to match the hue accordingly. He may approach you at some point with an easy smile and a faint flush to his cheeks. ]

She's currently cradling a steaming mug of cocoa in her hands, but if she notices you looking particularly chilled, she'll offer it to you with a concerned look. ]

Are you cold? Do you want some? This will help!

[ A while later, however, she might be watching a few of the new arrivals sledding and sliding down a nearby snow-covered hill, her eyes wide with excited wonderment. She bounced up and down in an excited little jump, pointing in their direction. ]

Oooh! That looks like fun! Wanna try it?

Don't worry, Mister Snowmans! We'll build you some friends so you won't be lonely anymore!

[ Nanako seems to have taken to this mission with just as much eager determination as she did most things. Besides, she didn't like to think of anyone being lonely, that just made her sad. And maybe helping the snowmans have some friends here would make her less lonely at the same time. Or at least, not have to think about that for a while.

She does glance around her for someone to come help, however, because building a magical snowman is a Big Job, even when you are so big at 8 now! She runs up to the nearest person to tug on their jacket or sleeve hopefully. ]

C. Aurora Ball:

[ This wasn't like any party Nanako had ever gotten to go to before. First of all, this definitely seemed like a Big Person's Party, but no one had said anything about her not coming, too, and when she'd shown up, a big beautiful floofy dress had appeared, perfectly full enough that the skirt went swirling and swooping when she spun in a circle. Which she promptly did, until she was dizzy and giggling. Somewhere in there, she'd realized there were glittering rainbow-colored fairy wings fluttering on her back and that just made her even more delighted.

Still, since she didn't seem to be in trouble for being here, she wanders around the party, sampling the yummy food, trying the drinks that are not for the big people (although the lady making her the drinks says she'll like the green or purple one better than her signature pink, alas). She might be found soaking up the heat near the bonfire, dancing off to the side of the dance floor, or on the outskirts of the party, gazing up into the night sky at the northern lights in awe and wonder. ]

Ooooh! It's so pretty!

Why me...?

[ please, anyone but him. he didn't want to come off as mean, but this was definitely one of those times where upsetting children was one weakness he definitely hated. (was that a light blush on his face? no you're imagining things.) ]

Surely there are others in town who can bake a better pie than I do.
