In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among magical creatures from all walks of life. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, in order for their dragon overseer to reclaim his own magic and find his missing siblings. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Fortunately, though, it seems that your kitchen is stocked with ingredients. Enough to make a pie, at least! Most of the village shops are currently closed due to the bad weather, so it seems like socialising with your neighbours might be your best shot at finding something to do.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. Perhaps the board will urge you to find some fellow people who are in a similar situation as you. The cold weather might inspire you to go fishing in the river canals, have a snowball fight, make warm drinks for people, get active in the kitchen or go sledding!

Or, just ... do whatever you want! This is your magical home now, might as well make the most of it!

While wandering through the village, you suddenly hear a voice appear out of nowhere. "Help ..." The voice speaks, rather ominously, which might alarm you. "Turn around ..." It says again, which may send shivers down your spine that aren't related to the cold. "Now, come closer. No, closer. Closer!" Jeez! You know this place is filled with magical creatures, but what on earth is taunting you at the moment? You can't see anything! There's just a Snowman in front of you.

"Hello." Wait, did that Snowman just--? "I am a Snowman." He did. He talked to you.

"I am lonely. Please build me some friends." Well, it's not like you have anything better to do ... "I will give you a reward if you do. Come to me when you have built, and I will give you a reward." Seems simple enough. You almost walk away to get started, until--

"HOLD IT!" He yells, very loudly for a Snowman. "You must use teamwork to build a Snowperson. The best Snowpeople are made with friends. Find a friend and build a Snowperson for me. Thank you."

Well, there you have it! You have been tasked with finding someone to build a Snowperson with. And of course, because these Snowfolk are magic, they're going to be quite particular about how they want to be built. They may berate you and act fussy during the process. You must divide the work between you and your acquaintance in order to complete your Snowperson. Get creative with hats, scarves, shapes, face designs - and whatever else you think the Snowperson should have!

Your final result will produce either an immaculate (or terrible) Snowtyke, Snowboy, Snowmam or Snowman who will reward you both with a random piece of winter furniture and an extra surprise!

In Finnish mythology, it is believed that the Northern Lights (Revontulet) are the creation of a fox who runs across the night sky. In Fable, this very same fox is the one responsible for the Northern Lights of their skies - and while he spends a lot of his time away from the realm to decorate the skies of many other places, he returns every Winter for a fantastic show (and incredible party!)

To celebrate his return, Fable's residents gather in Skáld to host a ball and have a big party beneath the lights. And you have been invited! No need to worry about travel - with your magical invitation, you can be poofed there in an instant! In an act of generosity, the Fox of the Northern Lights has temporarily given you a dose of his magic in order for you to join in the fun! While the party is ongoing, you will have a glowing pair of aurora wings which allow flight, a dazzling new outfit, an immunity to the cold, and the ability to create aurora streaks in the sky!

The moment you accept the invitation and arrive in Skáld, the magical effects from the Aurora Fox will activate! Shimmering sparkles will envelope you before you find yourself wearing a brand new outfit and accessories for the evening, and they really are very sparkly! Your floating aurora wings spawn behind you in any colour, and just like that, you're ready for the party! Don't worry about the outfit you were wearing prior to this, it has been transported back to your wardrobe in your cottage. With magic, of course!

The party runs for a few days, and it's a lot bigger than you imagined. Just how many mythological creatures are attending? You and the otherwordly attendees will be staying in a nearby wooden lodge that has been upscaled with magic in order to accommodate its large guests. The lodge has spacious rooms, complimentary meals, and even a heated outdoor pool!

The party itself takes place on a mountain adjacent to the lodge with an outdoor ballroom, Troll DJs playing through the night (with both upbeat and slow music), a bonfire, a food buffet and a bar!

Fancy a drink? There are cocktails and mocktails being served all night by the Troll bartenders! Who knew Trolls were so good at mixing drinks? Cocktails and mocktails are exactly the same in taste, except mocktails don't have any alcohol in them. If your character doesn't like to drink, they can still enjoy the tasty beverage without getting drunk!

Regardless of alcohol content, however, each drink will have a funny effect on the person consuming it.
Pink Pixie will make people feel more flirty and sensual, Minty Manticore will make people hyperactive and chatty, Blue Bunyip will give them a case of the blues by inspiring a little bit of sadness, and Purple Pegasus will make them sentimental and emotional.

( honestly, Amber is quite perplexed by the nature of her arrival and the reason she's been summoned here, but ... a deep part of her feels quite giddy about the whole thing. after all, fairytales and storybooks held a great place in her heart for many years! to the point where she once accidentally loaned a fairytale story to a certain blonde haired traveller instead of a gliding rulebook ... oops.

rather than investigate the outskirts of the village (even though she really wants to), she instead opts to reference the magical bulletin board in order to find something to do. she just can't go too long without making herself useful, it seems!

with all the snow surrounding the cottages of the brand new residents, she feels as though there is no task better suited for her than melting it. after all, she's a Pyro user! when she sees a cottage that she believes to be occupied, she calls out to the resident who may be inside the building or hidden away in the garden. )

Hey there! Is anyone home? If you need a hand with the snow, I'd be happy to help!

( this outrider has seen a lot of weirdness back in Teyvat, but a demanding snowman is certainly a new one for her! despite his demanding nature, she appreciates that he's just a lonely snowman in need of friends, and she's more than willing to help out!

without wasting any time at all, Amber is already on her knees, rolling a snowball in her hands. it helps that she has her gloves on, which makes the snow bite just that little bit less. she would be fully committed to doing the task by herself until she remembers that she needs a friend to do this with! to the nearest person walking past, she'll call out to them for help. )

Oh! Hey! You there! Want to build this snowperson together?

( this ball might as well be a dream come true for Amber. free pair of wings for the night?! getting invited to a party with fairytale creatures?! having the opportunity to fly in the sky with the dancing northern lights?! to say that she is one very, very happy lady is a huuuuuuge understatement!!

after accepting the invitation, she arrives in Skáld sporting a brand new outfit that compliments the glowing Pyro vision attached at her hip, along with a glowing pair of aurora wings which have a gradient from red to gold which almost makes them look like a sunset. she takes a glance up to the dancing lights, and back at the person she's stood nearest to, with an excited smile on her face! she looks completely dazzled - with so much joy sparkling in her bright golden eyes. she hasn't touched any of the cocktails at the bar and probably doesn't need to for now - after all, she's pretty drunk off her own excitement! )

I don't know about you, but if I spend one more second on the ground, I think might burst! ( she opens her wings and extends her hand with an excited smile on her face. yes, she's very unafraid of inviting a stranger to go flying, if she doesn't know this person! ) What do you say? Want to get up there and experience everything that these beautiful wings have to offer!?

[Collei is currently in her cottage, lamp aglow on the cardboard box and Cuilein-Anbar settled carefully on the bed as she takes inventory of the kitchen supply. There really isn't much to work with, but it's better than having to scavenge for food. She'll gladly take it.

A voice from outside catches her attention, and suddenly the kitchen doesn't matter in the least. She knows that voice.]

Amber?

[Could it be? After all this time, they're being reunited here in this weird fairy tale town?

She runs to the front door, throws it open, and can't quite believe her eyes. She breaks into a wide smile.]

Amber! I knew it was your voice I heard just now!

( when Amber hears that familiar voice ringing out of the cottage, she freezes, and almost believes that she is imagining things. surely, there's no way that this random cottage she picked is Collei's--!?

and then suddenly, she watches the door swing open before being greeted with familiar locks of green hair and pink eyes that she would recognise anywhere. )

( the outrider rushes through the garden gate before capturing Collei in her arms in a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE HUG! one that lifts her off the ground a little bit! )

I can't believe it! It's really you! You're here! ( Amber squeezes her a little bit tighter! ) Oh, Collei! I'm so happy to see you!

[If it were ANYONE ELSE, Collei would have recoiled immediately at the hug. But it's Amber--Amber! Here!! She's long past the point of being uncomfortable with her touch specifically, given everything they've been through together the last time they saw each other.

Instead, she returns the hug in kind. Or at least, as best she can with her feet off the ground.]

I'm so happy to see you, too! I can't believe we're both here and we don't have to depend on letters to each other anymore.

[Not that she could send a letter to Amber from this place, probably. But she probably would have still written them.]

I couldn't believe my ears at first, but even after all this time I would recognize your voice anywhere. Are you settling in okay?

[Temerity's in the middle of contemplating taking a nap when he hears the voice, and part of him wants to pretend like he heard nothing and hope the door to door salesperson (or whatever) goes away. The rest of him is curious.

Curiosity wins, and so he opens the...window. Because it's easier than opening the door. Easier to close quickly.]

Catch? ( she giggles! ) There isn't one!

The message board in town suggested helping residents with removing snow from their cottages. So that's what I'm here for!

( but perhaps a little bit of politeness doesn't hurt. )

Temerity. [This is said quite pleasantly, in the way anyone might when they've gone through three names up until this point, and might pick another two before they die. Besides, that's not the point.]

So you- [Actually, hold on, he's going to-]

[That's right, he doesn't even have a chair to sit on and like hell is he going to drag the bed to the window just to talk to someone. Back to leaning against it.]

What was I saying...oh. Yes. So you're telling me you just read that and went off and did as it said without thinking about why, girlie? Just...helping for the sake of helping?

[Aether's been walking around and observing this new world, trying to get a feel for it. He's seen a few people building all sort of snow creatures. Apparently they can talk, too, which is not something he's used to. He'll have to mention this to the next time he sees her, but she most likely will not believe him.

A pair of bright red ribbon "bunny" like ears catch his attention, seeing a young woman rolling a snowman already. He fully knows who this is and so he goes to approach her, no longer leisurely strolling through the snow.]

Only if we build a snow family and snow dog to go with it.

( when Amber hears that familiar voice, she springs up to her feet and rushes over! )

Traveller! ( she gives him a biiiiig squeeze hug! because she can!! but she lets go of him shortly after, flashing him a grin. they have a job to do, after all! )

Heh, trust you to come up with the brightest ideas! If we're building a family, where do you think we should start? Snow-grandparents, snow-parents, snow-babies, or the snow-dog?

[His eyes widen at the impact of such an intense hug, but he reciprocates with a pat on her back and a smile. It's one intense hug, but he doesn't expect anything less from her. Her brightness and joy make him feel comfortable and welcomed no mater what world they're in together.]

It's good to see you, too, Amber. [When the hug ends, he's still smiling.] Well, what if we start with a pair of siblings? Then the snow-dog, and see if that's enough for this commission.

[ Eula navigates her way through the ballroom in her new outfit with an air of confidence that could have only been instilled at an early age. She's not new to this kind of scene, although it doesn't mean she's entirely comfortable either. Fancy ballrooms just aren't her thing, but she's been to plenty enough that she knows the proper etiquette.

The way she captivates glances from others is kind of new though. She can no longer feel the room's disdain for her bloodline, but she's always expecting it, which makes her keep her guard up.

On her way to the bar (of course), she stops as she overhears a familiar voice. Eula, almost desperately, follows the source before she can take off into the skies. Please don't fly away, her only friend!! ]

Perhaps it would be best to leave the guests on the ground. Should they get airsick and spew their drink down below, there would be hell to pay.

[ She says, with a smile, as if such magnitude of vengeance sounds appealing to her! ]

( the moment that Amber hears Eula's familiar voice, she immediately turns around to find the source, with an unmistakable beaming smile on her face-! )

Eula!

( time for a hug! a quick one! she's allowed! )

Wow! You look incredible! So the fairies took you too, huh ... ( she's so relieved to see such a close and familiar face. ) Well, I think it's a shame if people don't want to try out their amazing new ability to fly, but that's their choice. But anyway - less about flying! When did you get here? How are you feeling?

[ Eula certainly has no say in the matter when it comes to a quick Amber hug, yet she allows it to happen as if this is a common reoccurrence. Indeed, she will remember to pay her back someday. ]

It's hard to say when I got here, or if I really am here at all. [ She's been briefed that another part of her is still in Mondstadt. What's the point of exacting revenge if this part of her won't even be there to experience it?? ] The nerve of these creatures... don't they know that they will regret this?

[ She sighs, thinking they're just lucky they haven't brought in a bad Lawrence. Are they vetting anyone they "kidnap"? ]

I would like to know about your situation, too.

[ Is she alright? Did anyone hurt her??? ]

[ At first, he keeps walking, because she couldn't be talking to him. Obviously. He's just minding his own business, after all, hardly deserving of being dragged into building snowpeople, but there's no one else around, is there?

He draws to a stop, turning to look back at her with an incredulous look. ]

[ And why would she want to do it with him??? ]

( Amber gestures with a gloved hand towards the large snowman stood behind her. )

'Cause he asked for some friends! ( yes, 'he' is the snowman. )

And, you know, it'd be fun!

You know, he might find that ludicrous if this wasn't already, you know, a faerie realm, and another snowman had harangued him for just the same thing earlier. He had ignored it, then; now, he may not be so lucky.

[ But apparently, he does, too, because instead of leaving, he steps closer, gathering some snow up at his feet. Whatever, not like he has anything better to do. ]

[ For as strange as it has been to wake up in a place that she hadn't been before, only to be told that a piece of her soul had been taken to start a new life, this place does seem pretty quaint and rather peaceful. It actually kind of almost reminds her of home, even if the cottage she's been giving is rather empty and doesn't help too much with the ache of missing her family. But if she's going to be here, she might as well make the most of it. Sitting around won't help much, after all, and she's always been better with something to do.

So sometime later after busying herself in the kitchen, she heads out to some of the neighboring cottages with a banoffee pie in hand. Spotting someone at home, she'll offer a wave and a smile. ]

Hey there! Need any help clearing out the snow?

[ A talking snowman isn't as weird as it probably should be, but Sena is more than willing to help him out. She's not even too interested in the reward as much as she is building him some friends so he's not so lonely.

And needing someone else to build more snowfolk hardly slows her down, as she heads for the first person she finds. ]

Hi! You wanna build a snowman with me? I'm trying to make that snowman there some friends.

[ Though a bit surprised at the invite, it had sounded like a good opportunity to meet more people, so she had been excited to attend. Especially once she arrives and finds herself wearing a new outfit, and a pair of sparkling light pink wings.

So of course she takes every opportunity just to fly around on the wings, dashing through the skies and leaving an aurora trail in her wake, or even just hovering a few inches off the ground while dancing in the ballroom. If she only has them for a little while, she's going to make the most of them. ]

Helloooo! [going from door to door, anya is offering her snow shoveling services with all the confidence of someone who can properly and efficiently shovel snow. yet her handiwork so far shows that is far from the case, the snow messily shoveled to the sides and piled in places where she got tired of scooping and decided to move on after considering herself done. the walkways are no less shoveled and walkable than they were before except for the small pathway anya has made for herself to 'work'.

and instead of asking first and then getting to work she's decided, cleverly so, that she will shovel the snow first and then request payment. is she aware there is no offered payment for doing a good deed? not at all. would she care if someone corrected her? probably not.

she hits the cottage door with the head of the shovel and calls out again.] I'm all finished!

[ b - snowfolk ]

[anya's first attempt at a snowfolk is incredibly dismal. enough so that the other snowfolk nearby are very vocal with how bad of a job anya has made of their kin, but she refuses to be put down by the local naysayers.]

Don't be rude, or I'll kick you over. Then you'll look the same!

[ c - aurora ball ]

[large events like this, as fun as they can be, are something extremely overwhelming for someone like anya. arriving dressed up she tries to scoot along the outskirts of the party, far more interested in the refreshments table and seeing how many plates of sweets she can sneak away in true spy fashion with before someone catches her.

at least like this and avoiding the thick of the party she can avoid the worst of the static of everyone's thoughts that overwhelm her to the point of a throbbing headache and a hard to shake anxiety.]
