In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among magical creatures from all walks of life. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, in order for their dragon overseer to reclaim his own magic and find his missing siblings. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Fortunately, though, it seems that your kitchen is stocked with ingredients. Enough to make a pie, at least! Most of the village shops are currently closed due to the bad weather, so it seems like socialising with your neighbours might be your best shot at finding something to do.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. Perhaps the board will urge you to find some fellow people who are in a similar situation as you. The cold weather might inspire you to go fishing in the river canals, have a snowball fight, make warm drinks for people, get active in the kitchen or go sledding!

Or, just ... do whatever you want! This is your magical home now, might as well make the most of it!

While wandering through the village, you suddenly hear a voice appear out of nowhere. "Help ..." The voice speaks, rather ominously, which might alarm you. "Turn around ..." It says again, which may send shivers down your spine that aren't related to the cold. "Now, come closer. No, closer. Closer!" Jeez! You know this place is filled with magical creatures, but what on earth is taunting you at the moment? You can't see anything! There's just a Snowman in front of you.

"Hello." Wait, did that Snowman just--? "I am a Snowman." He did. He talked to you.

"I am lonely. Please build me some friends." Well, it's not like you have anything better to do ... "I will give you a reward if you do. Come to me when you have built, and I will give you a reward." Seems simple enough. You almost walk away to get started, until--

"HOLD IT!" He yells, very loudly for a Snowman. "You must use teamwork to build a Snowperson. The best Snowpeople are made with friends. Find a friend and build a Snowperson for me. Thank you."

Well, there you have it! You have been tasked with finding someone to build a Snowperson with. And of course, because these Snowfolk are magic, they're going to be quite particular about how they want to be built. They may berate you and act fussy during the process. You must divide the work between you and your acquaintance in order to complete your Snowperson. Get creative with hats, scarves, shapes, face designs - and whatever else you think the Snowperson should have!

Your final result will produce either an immaculate (or terrible) Snowtyke, Snowboy, Snowmam or Snowman who will reward you both with a random piece of winter furniture and an extra surprise!

In Finnish mythology, it is believed that the Northern Lights (Revontulet) are the creation of a fox who runs across the night sky. In Fable, this very same fox is the one responsible for the Northern Lights of their skies - and while he spends a lot of his time away from the realm to decorate the skies of many other places, he returns every Winter for a fantastic show (and incredible party!)

To celebrate his return, Fable's residents gather in Skáld to host a ball and have a big party beneath the lights. And you have been invited! No need to worry about travel - with your magical invitation, you can be poofed there in an instant! In an act of generosity, the Fox of the Northern Lights has temporarily given you a dose of his magic in order for you to join in the fun! While the party is ongoing, you will have a glowing pair of aurora wings which allow flight, a dazzling new outfit, an immunity to the cold, and the ability to create aurora streaks in the sky!

The moment you accept the invitation and arrive in Skáld, the magical effects from the Aurora Fox will activate! Shimmering sparkles will envelope you before you find yourself wearing a brand new outfit and accessories for the evening, and they really are very sparkly! Your floating aurora wings spawn behind you in any colour, and just like that, you're ready for the party! Don't worry about the outfit you were wearing prior to this, it has been transported back to your wardrobe in your cottage. With magic, of course!

The party runs for a few days, and it's a lot bigger than you imagined. Just how many mythological creatures are attending? You and the otherwordly attendees will be staying in a nearby wooden lodge that has been upscaled with magic in order to accommodate its large guests. The lodge has spacious rooms, complimentary meals, and even a heated outdoor pool!

The party itself takes place on a mountain adjacent to the lodge with an outdoor ballroom, Troll DJs playing through the night (with both upbeat and slow music), a bonfire, a food buffet and a bar!

Fancy a drink? There are cocktails and mocktails being served all night by the Troll bartenders! Who knew Trolls were so good at mixing drinks? Cocktails and mocktails are exactly the same in taste, except mocktails don't have any alcohol in them. If your character doesn't like to drink, they can still enjoy the tasty beverage without getting drunk!

Regardless of alcohol content, however, each drink will have a funny effect on the person consuming it.
Pink Pixie will make people feel more flirty and sensual, Minty Manticore will make people hyperactive and chatty, Blue Bunyip will give them a case of the blues by inspiring a little bit of sadness, and Purple Pegasus will make them sentimental and emotional.

[ You're the one who approached him, screaming "Alhaitham! There you are! I'm begging you, please notice me!", Kaveh. Please. ]

Hm, I'm surprised. That just means you studied all those years for nothing.

[ To him? That's fine. He can continue studying here in this place, anyway. But he would have expected Kaveh to worry more about his status and title.

... hm. ]

Well, [ He shrugs his shoulders, offering his glass for a toast. ] good for you that you're doing great.

[ Help he's just this bad at being a people that he can't pick up on Kaveh's cues ]

It so does not! If that were the truth, couldn't the same be said for yourself? And I'm sure you know as well as I do that you'll disagree with that notion. Your studies have clearly excelled you in life, as have my own. You might not be able to understand the arts, but these skills will live on with me no matter where I go after the Akademiya. Same for you.

( Alhaitham just really loves letting Kaveh shout hot air over nothing, huh ... he swirls his cocktail glass in his hand, before taking another sip. not as part of that sarcastic toast, thank you very much!! )

Whatever. Either way, our lives back in Sumeru will carry on as normal. This is a new start, a new chance of positive change. ( he clears his throat a little in hesitation. ) ... Even if the circumstances are ... strange, shall we say.

In any case. How about turning over a new leaf, hmm? Are you going to be nice to me and treat me with respect?

[admonishing]

I could be a scribe here. Maybe there's a facility that needs me.

[ But why would they need an architect? Lol. Alhaitham surely doesn't see the need. ]

It still surprises me to this day that you could say that about me when you had a roof over your head, a bed to sleep on, and food. But I'll humour you— [ He takes a sip of his drink finally, and then proceeds to clear his throat. ] My genius senior, Architect Kaveh, shall I get you something to eat? What would you like? I understand you have delicate sensibilities, but I shall do my utmost to serve you what food you would like. Please also step on me and let me lick your boots while you are eating.

[ Like that? That's what Kaveh wants, right? ]

( it's certainly not what he wants. and Alhaitham is about to find out in a moment's notice. the blonde man steps back and scowls, straightening his posture with a small drunken wobble, stiffening his brows into a poignant frown. )

Unbelievable. I ask you for one - just one - single show of respect! And you mock me in such a patronising and theatrical sort of way!

( that cocktail is not his first of the night, actually! it seems it's hit him like a freight train now as well. Alhaitham will be able to see Kaveh being his normal emotional drunkard-self. except ... perhaps amplified by the magical cocktail's effects. this is definitely not like a normal tavern night they'd have in Sumeru. )

All I wanted-- ( is he tearing up? his voice is definitely cracking. ) was just to hear one nice thing from you! One time! ( he's definitely tearing up. ) I don't care if you don't like art, or if you don't like me. But you have this amazing talent of making me feel more like worthless trash than anyone I've ever met!

... I wanted to believe you weren't so cold inside. We haven't got much. You know the situation with our families. ( his tears break way and pour down his cheeks. ) But we'll never see eye to eye. Us separating-- ( he sniffs, and hiccups. ) is for the best.

[admonishing]

[ Oh. He's tearing up. Alhaitham first thinks it's an act, but then it actually happens. He's not quite sure how to take this. Kaveh's a mess when he's drunk, but he's never seen him like this. Let alone cry from something that he's said or done.

He looks around first. Not that he cares what other people think of him, but he knows this guy does. And if anyone witnesses him crying like this, there's no doubt in his mind that Kaveh's going to whine about it when he's sober. And that's going to be an even bigger annoyance in the future.

Present Alhaitham has to look out for future Alhaitham, after all. ]

This is why you shouldn't drink if you can't handle your alcohol.

[ Was he listening to what Kaveh just said? All that stuff he said??? He sure did, but he sure as hell isn't saying anything about it. Alhaitham is grumbling when he walks past Kaveh, on his way to a nearby table to grab a glass of water. It's not for him to drink, but he's quick to take the glass Kaveh's holding and replace it with it. ]

Are you absolutely certain the first impression you want to make amongst the other people here is you crying at a party?

[alcazarzaray]

( sniff! )

I wouldn't be crying if you'd just be nice to me!

( although Alhaitham giving him water is technically a nice thing to do, but... WHATEVER!! IT'S TOO LATE!!!! )

I can't believe I told you I missed you, and it's only been a day, and...! You pretend you don't even know who I am! ( SOB SOB )

[admonishing]

You really are so confusing.

[ Confusing, overly sensitive... there are a lot of words Alhaitham can use to describe Kaveh, but those are the first two at the top of his head. ]

We've never once gotten along, and yet, you say something like this.

( he is overly sensitive! and unfortunately for Kaveh, the drinks provided by the fae did quite a number on him. the effects of the blue bunyip and purple pegasus drinks are definitely amplifying how he feels - on top of how sensitive he already is. hence the crying, and hence him pouring out his emotions. what a nightmare.

he's drunk, emotional, and frustrated. magic cocktails, huh ... he isn't at all aware that the fairy drinks have done this to him. fortunately, the worst of the crying finally comes to an end once he gets it out of his system, with Kaveh collecting the last of the damp from his eyes with his thumb and fingers. he still looks very drunk, though. )

You never ... ( sniff ) Pay any attention to me anyway, so you'd never have known. ( maybe this idiot needs to get himself to the lodge and sober up. )

[admonishing]

You're still not making any sense. Then again, you're intoxicated.

[ Thus, won't remember this exchange at all. At least, based on experience, it might end that way. ]

Since we won't speak of this tomorrow, as you won't remember a single thing, tell me what it is that I should know.

[ This conversation will only benefit Alhaitham, but that's the good end, anyway. ]

( every last cell in his body is screaming at him to resist answering Alhaitham's request, yet some greater force allows him to keep going. the social lubricant of the alcohol isn't helping either. he really was doomed from the start, wasn't he? )

I ... ( sniff ) I don't know! I woke up today and missed you. I missed having your presence in the house I live in... hearing your voice, your quill scratching at your papers while you work. Our debates... even our more heated ones. ( his lip quivers into a pout. ) I thought being away from you would be a blessing granted by Lesser Lord Kusanali, but it made me feel the opposite. ( he wipes his eyes with his tears. )

So whatever. Hate me if you want, I don't care. Just go away. ( KAVEH YOU CAN'T JUST LAMENT ON HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO BE AROUND ALHAITHAM AND THEN SAY THAT )

[admonishing]

[ This is embarrassing. His roommate his embarrassing... ]

You're being more ridiculous than usual, not to mention, you're contradicting yourself.

[ He'd celebrate Kaveh making a mistake more, but he doesn't really want to hear his roommate complain like crazy about being a fool in front of a lot of people. ]

Stop drinking.

( he is, and will you let him suffer alone tonight, Alhaitham? decisions need to be made and it would be easier to abandon him, but ... the man is so pitiful right now. just when he thought he stopped crying, he whimpers once again and his eyes break into more floods of tears.

this is going to be a night to never look back on for him (if he can even remember it.) )

I'm not drinking! ( Kaveh squawks, and dries his eyes on his sleeve again. ) And I'm not being contra ... contradicting!

I told you how I feel about you, and you're just being so mean and dismissive! I-I always knew you were cruel, but, ( he sobs! ) This is extreme! I wish you would be nice to me!
