In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among magical creatures from all walks of life. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, in order for their dragon overseer to reclaim his own magic and find his missing siblings. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Welcome to Fable.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Most of the village shops are currently closed due to the bad weather, so it seems like socialising with your neighbours might be your best shot at finding something to do.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. Perhaps the board will urge you to find some fellow people who are in a similar situation as you. It seems that the monthly tasks are geared towards togetherness due to this being the month of love!

When the 14th of February rolls around in Fable, every creature across the realm seems to be full of love! The villages all across the realm have many loved-themed attractions for the occasion. There are Fae folk giving away cookies in the streets, mysterious Cherubs flying around with bows and arrows that might make you suspicious, and a general sense of happiness and warmth can be felt all around.

Of course, Valentine's day is for more than the love shared between romantic couples, though! All kinds of love are celebrated on this day - platonic love, familial love, romantic love, and every other kind in between. To celebrate this romantic holiday, the Fae have poofed some attractions up into Fable including an outdoor café, a magical carousel and an evening firework show! When the fireworks explode, they explode into hearts! Isn't that sweet?

In Fable's town square, a magical carousel has appeared! As you take a closer look, you notice that the wooden horses seem to be alive...?! If you stare and linger for too long, the Fae may pester you to go and ride it! If you succumb to the wishes of the Fae (or decide to ride it out of your own accord), everything will seem to be pretty normal to start. The horses move up and down while music plays, giving a pretty novel carousel ride experience.

Then, suddenly, the horse you are riding will turn around to look at you...!? And then say: "Seems the two of you are getting along just great! Now, we'll take you on a date!" Uh, what!? Before you can ask questions, you realise that the horse you are riding has detached from the carousel, and it is now taking you to a new location with the person next to you to set you up on a date! Both you and the person riding the horse adjacent to you will be taken on a fun date spot by both of these horses. It seems to be far out of Fable, too! The horses will take the two of you for a fun time out in Kanshi! Known for its famous flower gardens and pink foliage, it makes for a wonderful date spot. Once the carousel horses deliver you, they tell you they'll come and pick you up...! On one condition. The condition is that you must either play 20 questions, truth or dare, go out for a meal or make flower crowns for each other. Simply whistle to call the horses back afterwards. Have fun!

Care for some candy? Although, you're pretty sure these are cookies ... In any case, there are several fairies flying around Fable with trays filled with complimentary candies! Upon first glance, they just look like a regular plain heart, but once they're picked up, they will tell you something you really need to hear right now. Something to warm you from the inside out!

Once you consume one of these candies, you won't be able to resist complimenting other people as well. The more you eat, the more compliments you'll give!

Uh oh, there's trouble in the air ... Mischievous Faerie Cherubs may shoot you in the heart with an arrow today! You won't feel it, but the momentum of being struck might make you wobble a little.

Red arrows will give you strong feelings of lust. Oh, my. When did everyone here get so attractive...? You feel like you're on fire. Better go somewhere private if things get heated between you and another.

Yellow arrows will make you feel like sunshine today! If you're usually a grumpy grump, you find yourself filled with inexplicable joy. It's probably contagious!

Pink arrows will fill you with so much love for the people you care about. It's like the holiday spirit of Valentine's has hit you full force! You really want to do something to show someone you care about them.

White arrows will give you a case of the hiccups that can only be cured with a kiss! You know the cure, but nobody else does (unless they've been affected too.) What will you do?

After a fun time on the 14th, you feel as though the Fae must be all partied out by now during February. Surely they can't still be partying this month? Wrong! They certainly are! You awaken one morning to discover that music is playing in the distance. If you feel intrigued enough to go and investigate, you will notice multicolour paper decorations lining the streets along with lots of bunting.

Any questions you may have will be answered very swiftly when a peacock bursts out of nowhere, wildly shaking his feathers! "WELCOME TO FESTIVALE!" He says, and before you can open your mouth to speak, he continues:

"One and TWO! Three and FOUR! Your hips! They do not move! They do not hear the music! They do not DANCE! Dancing is not done with your feet, but with your HEART!"

You still don't follow.

"Your heart cannot DANCE while you are lonely! Therefore, you must complete my scavenger hunt to make some friends! You must team up to find the magical feathers I have hidden! Bring the feathers to me, I will reward you with furniture! And you will reward yourself with friendship!"

Okay, you think you get it now. After reading the peacock's directions presented on a wooden sign, you are given the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt! What's there to lose, especially if there are prizes to be won?

Each feather will appear when participating in a different activity!
The activity involves gathering a material and doing something fun together in Fable's locations!
The material seems to be relevant to the type of furniture you want, too ...

Red feathers can be found when collecting stardust in Qijue! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily give you feathered wings! Once you have gathered stardust from the sky and swapped a meaningful story, a red feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of star furniture and its DIY recipe!

Green feathers can be found while gathering glowing moss in Limerick! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily transform you into a tiny fairy with a moss pouch! Once you have gathered moss and danced together, a green feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of moss furniture and its DIY recipe!

Blue feathers can be found when diving for seashells in Villanelle! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily transform you into a mermaid! Once you have gathered some pretty seashells and played two truths and a lie, a blue feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of mermaid furniture and its DIY recipe!

Purple feathers can be found while gathering blossom petals in Kanshi! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily give you fairy wings! Once you have filled a basket with petals and shared an ice cream, a purple feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of cherry blossom furniture! and its DIY recipe!

Once you have hit 5 comments each in your thread (10 comments total), you will be eligible to redeem your furniture and recipe! This is to guarantee the prize in case threads get dropped or fall incomplete. Reply here to do so!

[ Gorou is nothing if not resilient. It’s a trait that he has had to hone in order to keep going and push himself to be the best for his troops. Resilience is an important trait in a rebel general, after all. So, he’s become accustomed to the cottage, to the way of life, at least he’s trying. He’s worried that what he’s been told isn’t completely true and his troops are left in the lurch, that Her Excellency is wondering where he has left to? Has he completely gone awol or had he been captured in some nefarious plans?

The possibilities could be endless. For his peace of mind, he tries to believe the story that’s been told. It’s easier that way and there’s plenty to focus on around the cottage and getting acquainted with his surroundings and neighbors. He’s friendly at least and it hasn’t been that difficult of a transition in that way.

Gorou is excited at the mention of a fireworks show while he was having a drink at the cafe and looking for someone to talk to. He’s been trying to make sure to have a network of contacts and potential friends or at least acquaintances. With a friendly smile he inclines his head to someone who looks at the very least open to conversation if nothing else… ]

I’m really looking forward to the fireworks show tonight, are you planning on going?

[ Yes, he might just be fishing for someone to watch them with. ]

[ Well, upon finding himself in Kanshi with someone unexpected, Gorou blushes a little, scratching the back of his head and then crossing his arms as he tries to look unaffected — because why would he be affected by any of this, of course! ]

I suppose, they made the rules fairly clear. What do you think?

[ There’s a moment where Gorou stumbles a bit, blinking in confusion and he can’t figure out exactly what it is that caused the mishap but following there’s a hiccup…and then another hiccup.

He continues hiccuping as he moves along the streets, starting to head back to his cottage because he clearly needs to figure out how to get rid of this sudden case of the hiccups. As he walks he tries some of the more obvious and easy methods… holding his breath? Sur— ]

Hic..!

[ Well, Gorou can’t argue that there’s nothing to lose with this! He also ends up finding himself as a mermaid and diving for seashells. It all reminds him so much of home and the pang in his chest is poignant and pressing. But there’s freedom in moving through the water as a mermaid and he relishes it and does his task with the dedication and diligence he gives everything.

So, it doesn’t take long to collect some beautiful seashells and then it’s time for the next part of the scavenger hunt. He crosses his arms and his brow furrows. ]

[Hilda would never use the word to describe herself, but the reality is that she's grown rather resilient over the past few years. War does that to a person.

As such, she's more or less just rolling with things here. It's easier than putting up an effort to fight back, especially since she doesn't really know or understand the full capabilities of these fae. For now, she's choosing to take them at their word as she continues to size the situation up.

At least the company has been mostly pleasant so far. Fae have good taste in hostages. When the dog-guy turns to her with a smile, Hilda smiles right back.]

Of course I'm going. I've actually never seen a fireworks show, so I'm hoping it's worth all of the excitement.

[She holds out a hand.]

Hilda, by the way. And you are?

[ Ah! He's had good luck in who he's chosen to try and strike a conversation with he decides quickly and offers her a friendly smile. ]

Fireworks are amazing and fun. There were some very talented firework creators make home... Honestly, I'm not sure if they can measure up here but it's always fun nonetheless.

[ He takes her hand in a firm handshake. ]

Gorou. It's nice to meet you.

[Hilda's grip is surprisingly firm in kind, despite the carefully delicate femininity she projects.]

I look forward to your discerning assessment after the fireworks are over. I'm probably going to be amazed regardless. [Beat.] Assuming, of course, you don't mind me tagging along for the show?

[ Gorou would expect nothing less. Delicate looks don’t represent someone’s strength as much as brute looks don’t necessarily represent someone’s strength either. ]

I’d like to have the company, actually. Fireworks are always better together than alone.

[The difference, of course, is that Hilda would prefer that he take her delicate looks at face value. Goddess forbid he realize that she's capable--he might put her to work!]

That's perfect, then! I'm looking forward to it.

Is there a traditional way to go about watching them? Must-have snacks or anything like that?

[ Well, lucky for her he’s not in charge of anything here and there’s no war or anything currently. ]

Not exactly. Sometimes there’s special festivals so food that’s associated with those but… you can’t go wrong with some sweets and a good drink and company.

I think they certainly did! Which one do you want to do?

[As much as Hu Tao found it a little odd to suddenly be transported somewhere strange, she couldn't deny that she might have some fun with her mysterious companion.]

I'm fairly comfortable with whatever you choose!

[ The answer he actually wants to give is make flower crowns but that's embarrassing and he's a general! He can't be seen choosing flower crowns when there are options that might require more bravery. ]

Truth or dare could be fun.

[With that, she cleared her throat as she gave off a very dramatic voice!]

[ Well, the dramatics are making him rethink his choice but it's too late now! He would really look weak if he backed out now, wouldn't he? ]

Truth, huh? Then let's see here...

[Hm, what should she choose? There were so many in her mind! After a moment or two, she gave out a small gasp before giving a light giggle.]

Oh, I know! Are you ready?






Have you ever practiced kissing in a mirror?

Oh...

[ His head drops a little as he flushes at the question. Of course it had to be something so embarrassing! Why would he expect anything less. He probably should have said dare. It would have been way less embarrassing than having to answer this question.

Still, he straightens a little and clears his throat. ]

Yes... Hasn't everyone? What would you like to pick?

[ Because they don't have to really discuss his answer do they??? ]

[He's having just as much fun diving for seashells, enthralled by the magic that's allowing him to experience this. He never would have guessed that this what it was like to live in the ocean, or at least giving him some small sense of what it might be like to do so, but it's amazing and freeing all at the same time.

Emerging from the water, he dumps his own seashells off, now looking to find someone to do the second part of the scavenger hunt to claim that sweet, sweet prize so he can decorate more of his cottage.

Ah, isn't that the doggie general? Gorou?]

[He approaches his furry companion, giving a friendly wave.]

You're General Gorou, aren't you?

I... am not 100% sure so same haha he has been to the teahouse though

[ Gorou perks up when he hears someone calling out a greeting -- and then to him specifically! There's few who know anyone close to the Kamisato clan that hasn't at least heard tale of Thoma whether they've met him in preson or not. He's seen him in passing at the very least.

And he really likes Taroumaru, as well. He's frequented Inazuma City more and more since tensions have settled down and he's been working on the Ms. Hina column. So he smiles and returns the wave easily. ]

You've found me. Thoma, right?

[schmoozing]

That's right! Seems like I'm running across all sorts of people from Teyvat recently. It's nice to finally be able to meet you. I've heard all sorts of things about you, and really, it's been wonderful that the people of Watatsumi can now travel to Narukami Island more freely.

[He places a hand over his chest to bow politely.]

So I see you're collecting seashells too. I'm actually looking for a partner for the second part of this scavenger hunt, if you're interested.

[pawprintings]

I've been coming across a few already, myself. It does make the adjustment a little easier, even if it's unsettling. But with the way things are I can trust that my people are at least doing well.

[ Gorou agrees. So many of his troops have been able to travel more freely too and some of them have left but that's alright. He wants everyone to be happy. He's happier than ever more peaceful times, himself. He returns the greeting with a smile and adds. ]

It's good to meet you officially. I would be hard pressed to not have heard about you.

[ Gorou's eyes returns to the seashells he's collected and he hadn't forgotten about the second part but running into Thoma is good fortune. ]

Working together is always a good option.

[schmoozing]

Agreed. And honestly, what better way for people to get to know each other a little better than a game like this?

[It's not a way he's ever really used to get to know people or network within the associations and other inner workings of Narukami Island or Ritou, but this definitely will help him get to know Gorou without having to do a lot of the heavy lifting of trying to get someone to open up with him.]

Hehe, but I won't make it easy for you, even though we just met.

[He's still got his competitor's pride here!]

I certainly wouldn’t want you to take it easy on me! I don’t need the handicap but you might.

[ Gorou doesn’t actually think he would ever need one but pride makes him say funny things sometimes. He’s very determined to do well now. ]

We’ll compete with all our might.

[ ah yes, another victim of the hiccup arrow, tighnari has seen this before..

.. he's also, unfortunately, trapped in smol fennec fox form at the moment, doing his best not to get stepped on. he's only like, 2.5 pounds right now okay, let him live. tighnari stops in front of him, and sits, tail flicking back and forth. ]

[ Luckily, at least, Gorou is agile and steps rather lightly so hopefully the little Tighnari is in no danger from him. However, having the cute little fox swishing it's tail and talking to him is a little more unexpected than he anticipated.

He can talk to dogs so maybe it makes sense that other animals in the canidae family can talk to him too... ]

[ well that might be true, but in this case, tighnari is simply capable of talking in this form.. gorou will find, in fact, that every animal in fable is able to speak! it was alarming at first, but now tighnari finds it simply incredible. ]

I can tell you how to stop it, but..

[ he makes a little fox frown. ]

[ Gorou will be more than a little excited when he figures that out at some point. After all, what’s not to like about talking animals?! ]

[ Because what can be worse than the never ending hiccups? ]
