In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among magical creatures from all walks of life. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, in order for their dragon overseer to reclaim his own magic and find his missing siblings. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Most of the village shops are currently closed due to the bad weather, so it seems like socialising with your neighbours might be your best shot at finding something to do.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. Perhaps the board will urge you to find some fellow people who are in a similar situation as you. It seems that the monthly tasks are geared towards togetherness due to this being the month of love!

When the 14th of February rolls around in Fable, every creature across the realm seems to be full of love! The villages all across the realm have many loved-themed attractions for the occasion. There are Fae folk giving away cookies in the streets, mysterious Cherubs flying around with bows and arrows that might make you suspicious, and a general sense of happiness and warmth can be felt all around.

Of course, Valentine's day is for more than the love shared between romantic couples, though! All kinds of love are celebrated on this day - platonic love, familial love, romantic love, and every other kind in between. To celebrate this romantic holiday, the Fae have poofed some attractions up into Fable including an outdoor café, a magical carousel and an evening firework show! When the fireworks explode, they explode into hearts! Isn't that sweet?

In Fable's town square, a magical carousel has appeared! As you take a closer look, you notice that the wooden horses seem to be alive...?! If you stare and linger for too long, the Fae may pester you to go and ride it! If you succumb to the wishes of the Fae (or decide to ride it out of your own accord), everything will seem to be pretty normal to start. The horses move up and down while music plays, giving a pretty novel carousel ride experience.

Then, suddenly, the horse you are riding will turn around to look at you...!? And then say: "Seems the two of you are getting along just great! Now, we'll take you on a date!" Uh, what!? Before you can ask questions, you realise that the horse you are riding has detached from the carousel, and it is now taking you to a new location with the person next to you to set you up on a date! Both you and the person riding the horse adjacent to you will be taken on a fun date spot by both of these horses. It seems to be far out of Fable, too! The horses will take the two of you for a fun time out in Kanshi! Known for its famous flower gardens and pink foliage, it makes for a wonderful date spot. Once the carousel horses deliver you, they tell you they'll come and pick you up...! On one condition. The condition is that you must either play 20 questions, truth or dare, go out for a meal or make flower crowns for each other. Simply whistle to call the horses back afterwards. Have fun!

Care for some candy? Although, you're pretty sure these are cookies ... In any case, there are several fairies flying around Fable with trays filled with complimentary candies! Upon first glance, they just look like a regular plain heart, but once they're picked up, they will tell you something you really need to hear right now. Something to warm you from the inside out!

Once you consume one of these candies, you won't be able to resist complimenting other people as well. The more you eat, the more compliments you'll give!

Uh oh, there's trouble in the air ... Mischievous Faerie Cherubs may shoot you in the heart with an arrow today! You won't feel it, but the momentum of being struck might make you wobble a little.

Red arrows will give you strong feelings of lust. Oh, my. When did everyone here get so attractive...? You feel like you're on fire. Better go somewhere private if things get heated between you and another.

Yellow arrows will make you feel like sunshine today! If you're usually a grumpy grump, you find yourself filled with inexplicable joy. It's probably contagious!

Pink arrows will fill you with so much love for the people you care about. It's like the holiday spirit of Valentine's has hit you full force! You really want to do something to show someone you care about them.

White arrows will give you a case of the hiccups that can only be cured with a kiss! You know the cure, but nobody else does (unless they've been affected too.) What will you do?

After a fun time on the 14th, you feel as though the Fae must be all partied out by now during February. Surely they can't still be partying this month? Wrong! They certainly are! You awaken one morning to discover that music is playing in the distance. If you feel intrigued enough to go and investigate, you will notice multicolour paper decorations lining the streets along with lots of bunting.

Any questions you may have will be answered very swiftly when a peacock bursts out of nowhere, wildly shaking his feathers! "WELCOME TO FESTIVALE!" He says, and before you can open your mouth to speak, he continues:

"One and TWO! Three and FOUR! Your hips! They do not move! They do not hear the music! They do not DANCE! Dancing is not done with your feet, but with your HEART!"

You still don't follow.

"Your heart cannot DANCE while you are lonely! Therefore, you must complete my scavenger hunt to make some friends! You must team up to find the magical feathers I have hidden! Bring the feathers to me, I will reward you with furniture! And you will reward yourself with friendship!"

Okay, you think you get it now. After reading the peacock's directions presented on a wooden sign, you are given the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt! What's there to lose, especially if there are prizes to be won?

Each feather will appear when participating in a different activity!
The activity involves gathering a material and doing something fun together in Fable's locations!
The material seems to be relevant to the type of furniture you want, too ...

Red feathers can be found when collecting stardust in Qijue! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily give you feathered wings! Once you have gathered stardust from the sky and swapped a meaningful story, a red feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of star furniture and its DIY recipe!

Green feathers can be found while gathering glowing moss in Limerick! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily transform you into a tiny fairy with a moss pouch! Once you have gathered moss and danced together, a green feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of moss furniture and its DIY recipe!

Blue feathers can be found when diving for seashells in Villanelle! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily transform you into a mermaid! Once you have gathered some pretty seashells and played two truths and a lie, a blue feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of mermaid furniture and its DIY recipe!

Purple feathers can be found while gathering blossom petals in Kanshi! In order to assist with this task, a little bit of magic will temporarily give you fairy wings! Once you have filled a basket with petals and shared an ice cream, a purple feather will appear! This feather can be swapped for a random piece of cherry blossom furniture! and its DIY recipe!

Once you have hit 5 comments each in your thread (10 comments total), you will be eligible to redeem your furniture and recipe! This is to guarantee the prize in case threads get dropped or fall incomplete. Reply here to do so!

[When Izuku woke up he wasn't expecting to be whisked away to somewhere like this. Whisked away back to his school and his own dorm room bed? Sure. But not to a far-away storybook-like village to be dropped off in front of a dusty little cottage and told that it's all his own.

Izuku looks up at the quaint little cottage with a touch of worry in his expression. All of this seems too farfetched to be real and this is coming from somehow who is used to a world full of farfetched things like people with supernatural quirks. His eyebrows knit and he worries at his lip because all he can think about is what he's left behind and how he's going to get back... And get that part of his soul back?]

Growing my own magical fruit to give to the fairies? I don't mind helping them but... I have no idea where to start when it comes to growing anything.

[He mutters out loud to no one in particular. The problem here is Izuku does not have a green thumb whatsoever. What happens if he just kills all his apple trees because he has no idea what he's doing?? He's going to have to do some serious learning...]

[🥦 b: merry go round]

[Once Izuku gets himself oriented enough he finds himself wandering into Fable's town square. Seeing the lights and colour of the place is a bit heartwarming. This place doesn't seem dangerous, anyway. It's actually kind of cute here... And upon seeing the magical carousel Izuku only watches for a little while before the magical-looking horses suddenly chirp at him to get on the ride with another person.]

Wh-what? Go on a ride? Wait?! A date?!

[He looks at the person next to him (you?!) and startles on the spot. He's never been on a date before? He's a date-virgin?! Is he really going to be swept away on these horses for a magical impromptu date?! ... It's too late the horses are already snatching him and (you!) away for a fun time out!]

Hold on a second?!

[🥦 c: complimentary candy]

[After a very hectic first arrival Izuku is actually... pretty hungry. So a chance to eat something is very welcome. He doesn't even care that it's very sugary-looking cookies. He wants a snack. He's actually starving!! And today has been a lot to process...

When he bites into one of the cookies he has a faint thought that he's not even sure if it's actually safe to eat anything that is given to him by fairies. But they've been kind so far so maybe it's okay? Then Izuku looks down at his cookie and reads the words...]

"No matter the weight on your shoulders, you will be able to carry on." Ah...

[Izuku didn't know that sentence would settle so easily in his heart. He sighs a little and nibbles on the cookie again. And then a compliment tumbles out of his mouth,]

Everyone has been so nice here.

W-wait--!

[Not that Collei's protests are any more heeded than those of the boy she's been carried away with. This is awkward! She's also a date-virgin!!!! And she doesn't know this guy's name!!!!!]

What if I don't want to go?

[The horses don't care. It's not too long before the pair are dropped off in Kanshi, given suggestions on what to do on their date, and left to their own devices.]

[fullgauntlet]

... Ah...

[Well, this is awkward. They're simply dropped off in this random little spot that smells a bit like cherry blossoms. While it's cold out it's still as colourful and warm as the rest of the places Izuku has seen so far.

It takes a second for Izuku to get his bearings and he quickly frets on the spot.]

S-Sorry, that happened faster than I thought...! Are you okay?

[He's going to hold a hand out to her so she can get to her feet. He can at least do that!]

[dendrosprout]

[Collei hesitates, unsure if she wants to take the hand. But it would be rude to refuse it, and then she'll feel obligated to tell him why, and even just the thought of it is too mortifying to bear. She sucks it up, takes his hand, and lets him pull her to her feet.

Once up, she starts brushing off her clothes.]

I'm fine, thanks. Are you okay... um... person I'm on a date with?

[fullgauntlet]

[If there's something wrong with hands Izuku doesn't notice too much. His own hand is scarred over from one fight too many so he's not that worried about hand appearances or something! But he'll politely let go as soon as she's on her feet.]

I'm- Okay! I think. Just a little startled that even happened... [dlgjkdfg] Um, I'm Izuku! But this doesn't have to be a date or anything! I don't even know where to s-start with that...

[He looks so apologetic that even happened...]

B. MERRY GO ROUND DATE. :o

[callmekacchan]

[Katsuki is less than thrilled to be kidnapped by some carousel horses. And what's that about a date???]

Oy!! Get back here, you bastards!! Who the hell is going on a date?? I'll blast you!!

[When they don't return, Katsuki rounds on the unfortunate date partner.

Izuku.]

[fullgauntlet]

[It's not a date?! It can't be a date?! What is happening!!]

Ahhhh?!

[... They're dropped off in Kanshi before they can even fight the decision. Izuku stands there awkwardly looking at the blond boy but he quickly looks off to the side.]

I don't know what's going on, Kacchan, but we can try to find our way back to the main square instead...

[callmekacchan]

[Katsuki glares at him for a few tense seconds before snorting and turning to look around. He then starts marching off in the direction the horses brought them.]

What a pain in the ass! Get moving, nerd. Better keep up.

[fullgauntlet]

[Katsuki looks like he's about to blow smoke...]

W-wait?!

[And off Izuku goes to follow behind him at a jog.]

But- It probably would be a good idea to look around before we go, right? Getting the lay of the land or something.

Everything has been hectic for them their whole school life, and for some of them, even more before that. A weight on their shoulders, or rather, Izuku's is something that Shoto has confidence that the young man could carry. Now more than ever with others helping with that load. That includes in a strange land, far away from what either of them know.

Normally he doesn't eat sweets either, at least not many of them, but if Midoriya thinks it is safe enough to eat and he has no misgivings himself... His own is opened and he takes a test nibble after reading, 'Yes, you can.'

He decides to say nothing, but he does address Izuku's. "You have the capability, even the people here see that without knowing you." Or it's coincidence, but Shoto stans his best friend.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku looks up to his best friend and feels a tiny rush of embarrassment for even reading it out loud but Izuku is always grateful for Shoto's quiet input. It's always been something Izuku's been able to take and feel grounded with. Much like he tries to do for Shoto too. And that is truer more now than ever.]

Todoroki-kun... [He smiles and gives a sheepish little nod before biting into his own cookie and snacking on it.] I never thought we would find ourselves having to do just that in a place like this, either.

[It's still a little confusing that all of this is even happening to them. But it is and Izuku figures he'll try and piece it all together bit by bit.]

The cookies aren't that bad though, ne?

Excuse my no icon my phone is dumb.

Shoto knows that it took a while for them to get there, regardless that Shoto decided a long time ago that he would follow Izuku into hell if that's what it took to be his friend. Luckily, that day came and Shoto will continue to be there for him. Even if it's just sharing the things that were said on cookies or candies.

That doesn't stop him from looking around, unsure about some of the people in the place that they're in. "Everything is idealistic. I'm not sure how good that bodes or not, but it's nice for now." He's trusting nothing, they did, kind of, kidnap them.

[fullgauntlet]

[He thinks that's a fair assesment. Everything does seem really idealistic and perfect and cute here (but hopefully not in some creepy dystopian way...). Izuku side eyes some of the more colourful batches of houses and buildings. Then takes another nibble of his cookie.]

You're right, it's not bad. But I do want to find out more about this place.

[He frowns a little.]

But I'm also curious... What did your cookie say?

[ Theo isn't really a social person. Rather, he tends to come off as aloof - save for those that he considers close to him. His friends and inner circle will always see a softer, more playful side to him that others will not.

There is an exception, however. That is children. Theo has something of a soft spot for them. Likely because children are things to be valued and appreciated. To be nurtured. Until brutally thrown in the jungle and then expected to survive ]

Typically one starts by figuring out what it is that they would like to grow.

[Well, it must be a good thing for Theo to spot this child looking completely lost when it comes to owning his own cottage let alone growing his own apple trees. He looks like a leaf about ready to crumble off the branch.]

Wh- [Izuku looks to the man (rabbit quirk...?) and he frowns slightly. He looks very unsure.] That's ... That's true. I think I have to grow apples. But I wouldn't mind learning how to grow more than just that if I'm going to be doing this for a while.

[manastacks]

[ Now now. No need for any shaking. Theo is no expert botanist by any means, but he does know some things about plants in general. Take the rabbit out of the jungle. Can't quite take the jungle out of the rabbit. ]

Apples.

[ Theo walks around, looking at the space around them. ]

One thing at a time, I think. Apples are grown in orchards, so one would think that plenty of light is needed. Well spaced apart.

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku continues to frown in thought because he doesn't necessarily have room for an entire orchard. The cottage that's been given to him is very small. Like a micro home (with a green roof!). And the yard is very overgrown with rocks and weeds. How is he going to stick a whole orchard in here?]

... I'm not sure I have enough space for that. Maybe for a tree or two...?

[ His mistake wasn't his choice of mount but rather getting on this ride at all. Its innocuous appearance had fooled him, and as the proud-looking stallion speaks surprise is visible on his face. Listening in, he reins in his expression to one of mild interest as he inspects the horse in an attempt to understand its logic. How exactly are they getting along? They're completely stranger who haven't exchanged a single word. That's what he's thinking as he glances at the other teen riding along on his very own horse. ]

They're not planning to stop.

[ That's certainly made clear as they're whisked away. ]

Definitely not.

[ Soon enough they would be stranded in Kanshi and their rides would be flying off side by side congratulating each other on their amazing match-making skills. They're not even attempting to be discreet about this. ]

And they're gone now. I do suppose they really couldn't hold on a second...

[fullgauntlet]

[This is extremely awkward and embarassing. He hardly knows the boy let alone knows how to date anyone. Being whisked away to Kanshi and dropped off by those chortling horses... Izuku stands there looking awkwardly lost for a second before he tries to attempt a friendly smile.]

I don't think they had much of a plan in the first place... They just took us.

[He lets out a small sheepish sigh.]

At least we're not hurt? Are you okay?

[ While the enchanted carousel horses declared this a date, Xingqiu hasn't settled into the idea. Still appearing pensive, he finally directs his full attention toward his travel companion. The boy wears a friendly, albeit embarrassed, smile. He can fully comprehend the awkwardness of the situation despite appearing at ease.

Finally, his expression turns amiable if polite, especially when that question is made with concern for his condition. What a nice boy. ]

Worry not, I am well. But perhaps a little surprised. How are you feeling? That is regarding their proposed plan. By the way, there is no reason for you to trouble yourself with me. This does not have to be a date.

[ It's best he makes that clear, it could help the current atmosphere. Although, he is aware they must fulfill some conditions in order to be returned. Although he isn't sure if he fully trusts the words of two magical horses who make decisions for others without consulting them once. ]

Instead, why don't we get to know each other? Then we can decide what task to complete for our equine friends. Let's start with introductions first. My name is Xingqiu, I hail from Liyue, I suppose I could call myself something of a literature enthusiast although there isn't much else I can say...

[fullgauntlet]

[Friendly and awkward are very accurate words to describe Izuku. In the moment he looks a little frazzled but no worse for wear other than the embarrassed blush on his cheeks.]

N-no, you're right. We don't have to call this a date or anything like that. Getting to know each other is a much better idea...!

[He's actually very thankful that the other boy seems easy going enough to just let that “date” word go. Being friends first sounds like a much less stressful idea. He's never heard of a place called Liyue but being a literature enthusiast kind of translates to being scholarly or nerdy and at least Izuku can relate to that!]

It's nice to meet you, Xingqiu. I'm Izuku and I'm from Musutafu, Japan. I'm a hero in training and a ... hero enthusiast.

[That probably makes him sound even nerdier.]

[Itto has been pretty eager to eat just about anything he comes across in this place, which is pretty reckless, all things considered, but fortunately, these candies only seem to benefit not only those who eat them, but anyone they come across. He happens to overhear Izuku after snapping his own off of a tray, reading its inscription ("Anyone could have eaten poisonous berries, it's not just you!") and immediately biting it in half.]

Yeah, they really have! I've always said I could live anywhere, but this place makes it easy! Everyone's real welcoming. Helpful, too!

[It's not a stretch for him to give people praise, but maybe not always so much at once.]

You settling in alright?

[fullgauntlet]

[Goodness, the tall man's energy is a bit blinding. He's almost reminded of one of his senpai. He blinks down at his sugary treat and then nods.]

It's amazing that everyone's been so friendly even with the circumstances we're all in.

[He doesn't really mind that... It's nice so far. Even if he has a lot to figure out! But maybe part of that is the sugar talking?]

Ah, but I think I am! The cottage they gave me is a little overwhelming- Does this mean you're not as new?

[battlebugs]

Guess most of 'em just figure there's no use complaining about it!

[Doesn't typically amount to much, right? Just gotta take the hand you're dealt and make the most of it, but it helps that this place is pretty comfortable. Itto would take one of these cottages over a prison cell any day, and that's saying something— those cells have their charms.]

I'm still pretty new, but yeah, had a few weeks to kind of figure some stuff out. It's a lot, right? But there's plenty to keep yourself busy! Arataki Itto, by the way— I keep forgetting I have to introduce myself to people here.

[He misses being something of a local celebrity, sometimes...]

[fullgauntlet]

[Izuku has to admire the attitude. It kind of helps Izuku feel a little less stressed out about the "stuck in another world" part of all this.]

Ah- Right...! I'm Midoriya Izuku. It's nice to meet you, Arataki-san.

[Oh. So formal and polite!!]

But I do think you're right. As much as all of this is overwhelming I can't complain. This place seems safe enough. And figuring out the rest...
