Thank you for showing an interest in our little cottagecore game! 💕

Fable is a private panfandom slice of life/fantasy themed roleplay community with an emphasis on cottagecore aesthetic, character growth and CR building! The game draws huge inspiration from the Animal Crossing series, Fairytales and Beatrix Potter books.

While the setting may be cosy and relaxed with an emphasis on CR and friendmaking, there is a plot! But this plot isn't heavy or intense, nor are characters obligated to participate. Just as Fable is inspired by cottagecore aesthetic, it is also inspired by fairytales, and its story is supposed to be a fairytale in itself. Not all fairytales are sunshine and roses, unfortunately, but the perk of this game is that settling into a nice life and enjoying yourself will naturally assist the magical creatures of this world who are in need of help.

Not only would we love to hear about who you might bring here, we'd love to hear some suggestions on what you may like to see in future events and TDMs! What are they like?: Sad lonely boy whom all he wants to do is to be loved by people genuinely. And maybe heal his trauma? he has a lot of it.
What fruit would they grow? Probably apple due to goats! There is some connection between kaneki and goat in the future, so I'm all for it

Potential Character(s): Jean Tannen (Gentleman Bastards series) or Moonshade (Elfquest)
What are they like?: Jean is the muscle of a gang of conmen, the one with common sense. He's used to having to be tough and sneaky and dangerous--but he's also the best with a needle and thread in the gang, was trained in the art of cooking by his father-figure and really just wants to protect those around him.

Moonshade is a feral elf from a tribe who hunt alongside wolves. She's a tanner and a mother, who carries her tribe's lore. She's begun to question The Way that her tribe follows and in this setting might learn to be less wild.
What fruit would they grow? I haven't decided for Jean (though peach for badger is one idea), but Moonshade feels like blueberry would be most obvious!
What would you like to see in game events? I would like characters to cook together, decorate a large hall for, and then eat a gigantic Redwall-style feast. If you're offering me cottagecore, let me talk about the tarts and the dandelion wine and elderberry cordial and have characters get into a playful flour fight while cooking.

What are they like?: Malleus has the personality of a depressed lonely cat that wants to be friends with mice, but his prey drive keeps kicking in every time they show fear. Vil is the Gordon Ramsay of self care.
What fruit would they grow? Bananas either way, but Malleus will make it known he’s disappointed that dragon fruit isn’t an option.
What would you like to see in game events? Fae shenanigans! Like full on, get you lost in a swamp because they think it’s funny sort of thing. Alternatively maybe a little exploration, or maybe events with pesky wildlife he can chase. Dragon enrichment.

What are they like?: aether is a good and kind hearted traveler of worlds who's up for helping people, meeting new people, and improving his skills. zhongli is an ancient being who recently has retired from being a god of a nation. he now tries to live a "mortal" life and adapt and learn things about the lives of mortals.
What fruit would they grow? aether is tbd but zhongli would either be apple or oranges!

Potential Character(s): Mafuyu Asahina, Shizuku Hinomori, Nene Yashiro, Riddle Rosehearts
What are they like?:
Mafuyu is a Broken Ace sort who's buckled under the crippling pressure of the expectations of others and a toxic mom who's now rediscovering her emotions. She can come off as rude if she's not playing the "perfect girl" part, but she doesn't mean harm and is in fact rather gentle and kind, even if she doesn't understand why.

Shizuku is a sweet, elegant and graceful idol! She's also a total ditz! She works very hard and strives to meet the expectations her fans have of her, while also making peace with the fact that she's not quite what they wanted and that's okay. She seeks happiness for herself and to bring others hope. A Good girl. A soft girl. No fucking sense of direction.

Nene is a bubbly, sweet girl who's in love with love. And also friendship. You're her friend now, you're having strawberry daifuku later. She's been cursed by a mermaid but it's fine. She's also technically bound by the soul with a ghost boy who she now works for. This is also fine. She's making the best of it.

Riddle is a child prodigy and a strict young man- prideful and childish all at once. Due to his upbringing he has an almost reverent view of rules and laws, and as such he seeks to uphold them to the best of his ability... and so will you, if he's got anything to say about it. Despite the rough edges, he's a good boy though. I love him. Also like Mafuyu, you will come to hate his mom. Fight her in the pit.

What fruit would they grow? Pear for Mafuyu, Banana for Shizuku, Peach for Nene, Orange for Riddle.

Potential Character(s): Probably some flavor of Princess Zelda (as I am a simple woman of simple needs) or possibly other Legend of Zelda character. the main candidates are probably BOTW Zelda, TP Zelda, or OOT Zelda/Sheik.
What are they like?: Intelligent, sweet, polite, varying degrees of friendliness, neurotic, bursting with crippling anxiety and/or survivor's guilt. They are all sweet and sad ladies in their own ways.
What fruit would they grow? Probably any, tbh, but for TP Zelda, I'd be inclined towards blueberries.

What are they like?:
Machina is a walking disaster teen soldier who comes from a world where people forget the dead. He's intensely loyal to those he cares about and would do anything and everything to help those he loves-- which is the Problem. He needs to chill.
Ophilia is a kind, compassionate cleric with a sad background who's on a journey to help everyone and everything live a long, peaceful life. She's gracious and kind to everyone, and would give 10/10 hugs. C: a softie
What fruit would they grow? i'm actually not sure !! would still be deciding, and also, i'd be one of the players who'd need an invite to the game, so it would depend on that.

Potential Character(s): Tsubaki Aoganei | Final Fantasy XIV (WoL)
What are they like?: Tsubaki is someone who wants to save as many people as possible in return for atoning for the huge mistake she made as a teenager. To keep this TLDR as possible, she was a sheltered girl told not to leave her village and she had everything she needed within the village. (Unintentional Moana moment, I'm sorry.) So due to her huge curiosity about the world around her because those around her would not share those details, she decided it was a great idea to sneak into imperial land like a trouble seeking teenager. That decision got her parents killed and caused a huge stigma back in her village where she eventually left to find a purpose in her life.

Eventually, she joined a dance troupe to give succor to those in pain. After a few years of this, she went to strike it out on her own, where she eventually ended up burdened by becoming the Warrior of Light and her fear of letting people down. She doesn't like to be idolized or regarded as a hero because she does not feel like she deserves it, but she does care about her friends and wants to be there for them. Even if it means being stuck with a title that she struggles to uphold from time to time.

This, of course, depends if Warriors of Light are applicable since its harder to come by a game that allows them these days.
What fruit would they grow? Peaches or oranges
What would you like to see in game events? Nothing in particular comes to mind.

Potential Character(s): I'm juggling the idea of a potential few -- one is this girl, an OC named Madeline Reyes. There's also Ophelia (mirrorvisitor) from The Mirror Visitor series or Dr. Eva Rosalene (takingchances) from To the Moon and it's sequels. I also have a few others like Ashi (notmymother) from Samurai Jack too...

What are they like?:
* Madeline comes from a world where drakon (dragons) sought to evade human attention by taking on first smaller bipedal forms and then human guises centuries ago. Madeline was abandoned as a kit at a human hospital due to being born in her human guise. So she thought she was human for the most part, albeit very strong for a human and fast to boot. She might have continued thinking that too if she hadn't met a male drakon and found out what she really was.

* The Mirror Visitor is something of a combination of Ghibli, steampunk and magic. It's the story of a world that had been torn apart into "Arks", each ruled by a Family Spirit that gifts those in it's bloodline with particular brands of magic. Ophelia comes from Anima, the Ark where all things are animated -- besides the food, that would be too awkward. She starts the series off as a very apathetic and withdrawn woman with a big streak of self-confidence and stubbornness. She really grows through the series and I'd probably take her from somewhere in Book 3.

* To the Moon is a series of games set in the future where technology had been invented that allows for the creation of false memories and for others to explore your memories too. The technology however has a plethora of side effects and in the end it can only be used on the terminally ill and dying as a means of granting them a final wish to ease their passing. Dr. Eva Rosalene is that Aunt you always wanted, kind and thoughtful to a fault while keeping a sharp sense of humor. She also replaces most curse words with the names of vegetables and has a thriving garden at her apartment.

* Ashi is one of seven demon-human hybrid children raised by a cult as the Daughters of Aku. And she literally is a daughter of Aku, born when the cult's high priestess drank a portion of Aku's essence. She begins the series as one of Jack's enemies but over the course of the season breaks ways with this to become one of his greatest allies.

What fruit would they grow?
* So drakon are fairly sensitive to the cold so having blueberries for Madeline might be amusing.
* Either apples or oranges for Ophelia I think.
* One of Eva's favorite animals is jellyfish. So I think peaches and an affinity for water would work well. Or maybe pears and an earth ability.
* Definitely oranges for Ashi, she's a fiery sort.

What would you like to see in game events? Anything CR building! I'm a big fan of randomized things that make characters work together.

P5 is my brainrot right now so maybe somebody else from there though, Haru or Yoshizawa might be fun?? A couple of others to throw out there: Lumine from Genshin Impact, Nanami from Dangan Ronpa 3, Aerith from Final Fantasy 7R, Kaede from New Dangan Ronpa V3, Sakura from Fate /stay night... idk honestly you can probably bully me into somebody and I'll try it, this game looks super cute so I'm just kind of coasting
What are they like?: uhhhhh out of the ones I listed: black cat that's good at making coffee and curry; girl that can grow anything but is kind of princess-in-tower-esque so learning to people; cute kouhai with lots of [spoiler redacted] issues that's really good at gymnastics but also clumsy in funny ways; stoic star lady that dropped down into another world and is occupied with trying to find her twin; gamer girl that's learning to people; looks like a cinnamon roll but is street smart and could probably kill you; super talented pianist that rattles off classical pieces like they're normal parts of conversation; and cute kouhai that is very sad, another one learning to people and is trying her best

Potential Character(s): either Gabranth from Final Fantasy XII, or this guy, Kazimir of Barowka, a tabletop OC!
What are they like?: in short, Gabranth is an antagonistic character who has done a lot of bad things (war crimes) and made a lot of bad decisions (regicide, attempted fratricide, multiple counts) for what he ultimately thought was the right thing to do (revenge, mostly). by the end of his narrative arc, which is probably where I'd be pulling him from, he's come around to the ACTUAL right thing to do, and pays it off by sacrificing himself to help the heroes and protect the one person who's been in his corner the whole time. certain death is a good way to atone for all those mistakes (again, war crimes), right???

on the other hand, there's Kazimir! a cheery sunshiney boy of aasimar heritage who was given over to the church as a wee lad, and has since been raised to perform the blessed work of his setting's god of death. he recently left his homeland to travel the world and lend his aid wherever it might be needed, whether it be through acts of charity, acts of kindness, or — when evildoers are afoot — acts of incredible violence. but he really does prefer to take the kindness and charity route whenever possible!

What fruit would they grow? not sure about Gabranth; possibly blueberries, since I like the association with pupy ice powers? for Kazimir I would most definitely go with oranges, because the idea of him transforming into a big fluffy snow leopard is too good to pass up 🥺
What would you like to see in game events? big mingling festival-type stuff! fae shenanigans! a touch of adventure and discovery wouldn't go amiss! and of course anything that provides opportunities for either of these men who are used to dealing with their problems by means of Incredible Violence to, uh. not be that way anymore!

What are they like?: Minato is a silent protagonist who's going through his mcr phase. Cyno is married to his work as a scholar hunter and loves bad jokes and tcg. Nahida is Rika Furude without all the gore a tiny god of wisdom who wants to get along with everyone. Noé is a literal ball of sunshine and also a vampire. Jeanne is the cutest vampire who gets flustered easily and can kick your ass without breaking a sweat.
What fruit would they grow? Minato - blueberries (I mean), Cyno - oranges, Nahida - pears, Noé - apples, Jeanne - peaches. Now I feel like I should add a sixth character who would grow bananas.
What would you like to see in game events? If we can adapt animal crossing events into the game that would be so cute... unless you're already going for that!! I just want cute cherry blossom furniture maybe....

Potential Character(s): Rook Hunt from Twisted Wonderland (or Vil Schoenheit from the same game, if I want to drive him nuts)

What are they like?: Putting it lightly, Rook is eccentric. He's friendly, is fascinated and joyful over seeing new and interesting things, and finds beauty in everything. He heavily references his experiences as a hunter in a way that can come across as creepy or intimidating, but he's more likely to recite poetry or dance than physically hurt someone.

What fruit would they grow? Apples would probably be most fitting, buuut I'm not married to the idea quite yet.

What would you like to see in game events? An event I've played in a previous game had people randomly teleporting all around the setting. Any kind of entryway would act as a portal to another random place, leading to things like trying to walk through your front door and falling into someone's bathroom (or directly into their bathtub). Or opening a refrigerator door and ending up in the school like a mile away.

What are they like?:
→ A "fierce" and "terrible" oni who is, in fact, neither of those things.
→ This man is an idiot.
→ Seriously, he's so dumb. Rocks for brains, heart of gold.
→ Prides himself on being a delinquent and runs a gang that is more like a found family for misfits, who looks out for one another and also other people in need.
→ He cannot beat children at children's games, but he sure is going to keep trying. The upside is kids love him because he plays them fair and square!

Potential Character(s): MAN IDK there could be so many fun ones for this. Thinking maybe Nanako from P4 or maybe a Twisted Wonderland boy (Jamil? Ace?). Varric from Dragon Age is also a possibility.
What are they like?: Nanako is literally here to be everyone's tiny baby sis and help ALL THE PEOPLE. Varric would be town bard/storyteller. The twist boys would just view this place as a vacation spot, honestly.
What fruit would they grow? I would have to think on this one, there are so many good options here! Nanako might be a bunny and earth magic would really fit her. Ace I'd lean towards cat/fire abilities. Jamil... bird? jackal maybe? Varric... someone tell me i can't make him a nug. >.>
