In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among all sorts of magical creatures. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, donated to their dragon overseer in exchange for rewards. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Welcome to Fable.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Fear not, though! By participating in friendly tasks, your cottage will look great in no time.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. The board may inspire you to go out there and mingle. It seems that the monthly tasks are geared towards friendliness to welcome this new season!

"Oh, Glenda! You clumsy fool! Look at what you've done!"

When you turn to see where this dispute is coming from, you notice that there are two fairies having an argument.

"You just had to go and spill that enchantment elixir all over these flower beds, didn't you?!"

It seems that the fairy's concern is greater than you imagined - before your eyes, you see animals emerging from the flowerbeds, quickly spreading throughout the area. It seems that the "enchantment elixir" spilled by the fairy has transformed the flowers into real animals based off their namesake! And, uh oh - it looks like trouble is afoot.

"Quick! You, there! Otherworldly person! We really need your help! Round up those animals so we can change them back! If you don't, everyone will be in big trouble!"

Maybe you're looking for something in it for you, though ... if so, the fairies will sigh - very loudly.

"Yes, yes, all right! We'll award you for this! One wish, but that's all you're getting! Now go!"

The Snapdragon flowers have transformed into large flower dragons. And it seems that they have a very pronounced draconic instinct activated in this moment - to hoard. The moment that they lock eyes with you, they will try with all of their power to catch you in their talons and fly away with you. If you stay too long in the dragon's hold, they will keep you captive in their nest, trying to fight off anyone who dares to rescue you. Detecting danger - the realm will magically summon a bow and arrow for you to save anyone who has been captured, or to fend off the dragons yourself. Once the dragons get a taste of the arrows, they will dissolve into normal snapdragon flowers.

The Tiger Lily flowers have transformed into incredibly majestic floral tigers with flowers visible in their stripes. Although these creatures look beautiful, they are incredibly dangerous. They are hungry for a fight, and they have their target set on you. They are fast and agile - you cannot outrun them. If you engage with one of these tigers, a brawling weapon will be summoned to help you. The tigers cannot kill you, but they can cause grave injuries. After being struck with a blade, they will revert back to normal tiger lilies.

The Foxglove flowers have transformed into mischievous foxes. Their chittering giggles can be heard once they decide to make you their target to pull some pranks on you. The foxes will try to steal your possessions and/or your clothing and possibly swap them for someone else's. The best way to get rid of these mischievous spirits is to seem completely unbothered by their pranks. After depriving the foxes of any real reaction, they will explode out of boredom into the foxglove flowers that they once were.

The Harebell flowers have transformed into purple hares, and they only have one instinct activated: to run. You must chase these rabbits, but be warned, they don't discriminate where they run. You may need to hop over people's fences and into their gardens and cause a bit of a scene. Whoops. The rabbits are easy to track due to the purple foot prints that they leave behind as they run. They're fearful creatures and will become scared when chased, which may cause them to freeze up, making capturing them easy. They won't revert to flowers and can be carried back to the fairies, but be cautious, anyone holding one of these rabbits in their arms will feel compelled to share all their thoughts that they're currently having.

True to their word, the fairies will grant one wish to anyone who encounters and stops these rampaging animals! Just a tangible item, though. If you try and wish for something like "love" or "lifelong happiness", the fairies will laugh at you and tell you to be more realistic.

Typically observed within the month of May is May Day - the celebration of workers. And within Fable's realm, one group of workers receive special notoriety on this occasion - the honey bees! These adorable little buzzing bugs work very hard to pollenate Fable's flowers and generously offer their honey up for the residents to eat and use in all sorts of wonderful ways. But ... there is a catch! A fun one!

You see, bees don't have any real use for money. They aren't here to sell their wares at all! Their communities are built on teamwork, which is their core value. They are happy to give away their products to anyone who shows the same amount of teamwork and togetherness that they do when they work so very hard to make this tasty honey.

When you encounter these bees in the village (and, heavens, there certainly are a lot of them) - you'll realise that you can completely understand their buzzing language! You're suddenly fluent in bee - and the bees are talking to you!

"We've worked so very hard on our honey this year! It's very sweet! Please, come and enjoy our honey! It's for everyone to enjoy!"

Their waggle dance guides you to a lovely little congregation of trees, beehives and flowers in an open space with the bees offering their wares. But! To enjoy these bee-autiful goods, you must follow their desire for teamwork. They'll tell you exactly what they expect from you! If you try to steal their honey, you will get swarmed and stung. Behave! (Beehave)

Seriously, you had better BEE on your BEEst behaviour. Around the grove where the bees live, there are wasp nests hidden away in the trees. If you disturb them by shaking the trees or threatening them in any way, they will all flood out of the hive and sting you to the point of unconsciousness. Let's hope someone nearby will be able to assist you ...

❖ Ooh, yummy! Delicious honey food! When the aroma enters your nostrils, you know that you need to try it. There are all sorts of honey related food items here - cookies, biscuits, cakes, toast, bread, porridge ... anything your heart desires! You learn from the bees that the 'currency' for the food is to ask a question to the person sitting opposite you. The more you converse and bond, the more treats you'll get to enjoy!

❖ Wow! Is that a spa area? It looks like it! The bees are offering honey-made body scrubs and massages to anyone who wants one! It might seem weird getting massaged by tiny bees, but it'll be great. (And slightly ticklish.) To participate in this spa area, you will need to tell the person you're with what your favourite features of theirs are.

❖ Mmmm ... those candles smell wonderful! Wow, it looks like there's an area dedicated to relaxing with tents, books, art supplies and pillows. You can cosy up and enjoy the aroma of the candles while doing any activity you like. In order to enjoy this cosy corner, the bees would like for you to introduce yourself to another person here and tell them your favourite interests.

❖ These bees certainly know a good time! Check out that pop-up bar! It has alcohol and non-alcoholic honey beverages to enjoy. Cocktails, tea, coffee, milkshakes - and they're all so good! The fairy lights certainly make this bar seem atmospheric, too. To enjoy your stay in the bar, the bees would like you to order a drink for the person here with you, and state two truths and a lie about yourself.

1. which details don quixote's ever-burning passion for justice and the timely manner in which she dispenses it.

[ yes, she was... unable... to find her trusted friend, her ally, her weapon SUEÑO IMPOSIBLE, but it's more than fine because just as the Fixers before her Don Quixote is determined to enact justice however she must -- and should it require a magically appearing club when facing down the tiger lilies by all the is good and just in the world she will Do It. ]

Set thy worries aside, fair maidens, for Don Quixote need no reward to enact justice upon those who would seek to enact injustice! Fall, beast, and know that though I have no hatred in mine heart for thee specifically, thy actions are irrefutably dyed in the hues of evil!

anyway, she looks like she's having an absolute blast going head-first into the fights with the tigers, as if there's not a single other thing rattling around in her mind. she'll save anyone who is in danger, and even those not in danger -- for the threat is there and a Fixer wouldn't be such a noble existence if they didn't seek to protect others!!!

also because when Don gets her mind onto a task she's hard pressed to stop it, sometimes. ]

2. of an amusing conversation between don quixote and another, who has found themselves the victim of her hopeful gaze.

[ more than a little roughened by the tiger's claws, it's fine, she'll be okay she's literally had worse and also the fae are... kind... but she wouldn't let any of them treat her as she had not succumb nor would she to such trivial flesh wounds!!!

more importantly! is the matter of food! of which the instructions are clear and easy to follow, and Don Quixote is most certainly plopping herself right in front of whomever and leaning on the table, eyes bright and smile brighter-- ]

What say thee on the matter of justice?

3. in which the fragrant candles seduce, and thus subdue, the valiant don quixote.

Ah... What a pleasing aroma this is, wafting through the area so freely!

[ hmmm. it seems there is no immediate danger nor villainy afoot, though Don is wary of resting just yet... well. surely some kind of weaponry would appear if needed, just as it had before, or she could simply throw herself at the threat if nothing else, so perhaps

perhaps... she can rest like, a bit... they don't have their manager esquire to release them from day duty (not that dante would have power here, really, but Don would feel all the better to be released properly) but surely it wouldn't be seen as slacking in her duties, or her self-proclaimed duties as a protector of the fae and the bees and what have you, so. so!!! she'll sidle up to someone, vibrating in some mix of excitement and nervousness to meet others since she's not usually the one who gets to Meet People in their group for good reason. ]

Hail and well met, fellow! My name is Don Quixote, and mine interests lie in meting out justice to ne'er-do-wells and their ilk! Also in playing chess, as well as trying new things that I have yet to attempt before!

4. of a number of other tales in which don quixote may partake, penned here for historic's sake (wildcard).

[ anything any everything! her personality's pretty clear, but don's the kind of girl who would see someone littering and stab the trash into their face to make them clean it up. that kind of honor student girl. justice to a fault. have fun. ]

[ tbh, ishmael had encountered way worse. these guys are zayin at best, but threat tiers don't mean anything when she doesn't have weapons to clash with. still, she somehow made it out with all her limbs intact - surprising, considering the world they came from - and she's going to reward herself to a feast because god knows they ain't got nothing like this in the city.

but don just had to bring that up, huh. of course she is. ]

I already told you about my stance on this, didn't I? What we're doing isn't noble or just.

[ why would you say that............................. ]

It is noble and just! The Red Gaze-- Ser Vergilius would not lead us astray! It is not our place to know for what the boughs are for, only to do as tasked in the name of justice, as any Fixer would do naturally!

[ please!!! the bees don't like people fighting and don does not want to be stung because bees are very hard to hit themselves... it's staying her hand from such a staining remark on their missive. ]

Besides, mine question t'was on the matter of justice itself, not upon that which we deal out... Are thee of the opinion that there is no justice in the world? When there exists those who would mete it out?!

[ ugh, not the fixer simp going off about the red gaze of all guys... there's no convincing don otherwise though, so ishmael is going to segue to the actual question at hand. ]

Not in the City, no. We're all inherently selfish, even when you think you're doing a good deed. [ sighs. ] But I guess in a more normal world like this one, justice may actually have its merits after all.

[ she turns to the bee-vendors, face deadpan. ]

There, we talked. Can we have our fill now?

[ ........ it was a talk, yeah, they can eat a few things. but they need to keep it up to get beeven more! ]

Mmm-mm-mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their bodies may be small, and hands smaller yet, but their cookies are most delicious! Regarding our conversation not a moment ago, though, I have more to say upon it! But to spoil the sweetness of such safeguarded stuffs... Mrrrg.

[ justice... is ultimately important... her feelings for it are so very strong... but the growling and grumbling of her stomach, that too is strong... don definitely doesn't think herself selfish in the least, even if she very much is, because a Fixer does such selfless things purely in the name of justice and so does she, but the sweets... ]

... It would be unforgivable.
