Go ahead. I'll order and wait here if you need me.
[ There's probably no need to let Kaveh know where exactly he's going to be while he's bathing, yet Alhaitham does it anyway. If he were asked to admit that he's doing it for Kaveh's comfort, he would probably remain silent, though.
As soon as the scribe is alone and done with ordering the food, it's inevitable to think about what Kaveh told him about the other Alhaitham. How come he didn't notice anything if a part of his soul had been in this bizarre land, even if for a short while? For someone who does self-reflection on a regular basis, Alhaitham knows he would have noticed something. The same goes for Kaveh, actually—they're living together and Alhaitham is watching the architect very carefully, yet he hasn't realized that something is off. Well, even now he doesn't believe that something is missing.
Although he can tell that Kaveh is doing a bit better, he doesn't feel too relieved as he might relapse anytime. Walking on eggshells around the architect won't help, but causing him unnecessary pain will be even worse. Alhaitham sighs deeply and rests his back against the seat. It would be nice to take a nap, but he'd rather not leave Kaveh to his own devices, even if he's acting more reasonably now.
At the very least, the food is served just before the other man finishes his bath. Alhaitham is snacking on his own portion of edamame. ]
