In your land, there may be stories of the Fae taking people away. Perhaps you haven't heard of the Fae at all, or perhaps you are more familiar with them than others. No matter how well acquainted you are with the Fae, everyone around you has experienced the same fate tonight: Being taken by them. Partially, at least. For they did not want to kidnap anyone from their home and take them away from the life they knew. In a small jar of fairy dust, part of your soul was taken in the night and brought to a magical village by the name of Fable.

On arrival, the Fae release you from the jar before waving their magic wands, and materialise this taken little part of you into a brand new you. From here onwards, your new life begins, shared among all sorts of magical creatures. Here, you will be allowed to grow, thrive and enjoy the bounties provided to you by these mysterious and wonderful creatures. In exchange, they ask for a share of the magical fruit that you grow in your garden, donated to their dragon overseer in exchange for rewards. After a briefing on your new life, you understand things as best as you possibly can. Now, it's time to settle into a brand new cottagecore life.

Now that you are a resident of Fable, you have a brand new cottage, a garden, and a few tools to use! There's not an awful lot in your cottage, though: Just a cardboard box, a lamp, a cassette tape and a single bed. Fear not, though! By participating in friendly tasks, your cottage will look great in no time.

Something sparkly catches your attention before you realise it's a message board, advertising an array of tasks for bonus fruit. Did this thing appear out of nowhere just now? That must be the case, since you can swear it wasn't there a second ago. The board may inspire you to go out there and mingle. It seems that the monthly tasks are geared towards friendliness to welcome this new season!

Around this time of year, the weather in Fable can certainly get hectic. While magic can only do so much to tidy the remaining fallen leaves off the ground, there's nothing like a doozy of a downpour to really sweep everything fresh and new. With all of the new flowers that have been growing in Fable, a lot of rainwater is certainly needed to give them all a drink. The dragons and storm spirits have been brewing up a torrential downpour scheduled to fall all over Fable and beyond - along with some strong winds. Are you prepared for the occasion?

From cottage to cottage, roof tiles rattle and leaves are swept away. It is advised to not go outside during this storm period, and if you're caught in the rain, to take shelter immediately! If you can't reach your cottage in time, there are other village landmarks to take shelter beneath. The thunder is very loud and the wind is strong enough to knock someone off their feet. It might be best to keep close to people in this weather - going out alone could be very dangerous. And if you're cooped up inside with a friend or a stranger, why not get to know them to pass the time?

It is important to be wary of the lightning. If someone gets struck by lightning, they will not die - but they will experience an injury and a magical feedback loop which swaps their personality! The cure for this problem is rainwater tea - a remedy which is advertised throughout the town's message boards as a precaution for any unlucky residents. The affected person will be lightning charged, causing them to receive an electric shock every time their hands are near water, which will make brewing tea impossible. Someone who has struck will need to rely on another person to brew the tea for them. A lightning-shaped scar will mark the person who got struck wherever they were affected.

After the storm ceases, there may be property damage such as collapsed gates, fallen fences, missing roof tiles and even an injury or two! Oh no! As compensation for enduring such a hearty storm - the realm's overseer, Prism, provides brand new repairing tools to those who had taken damage.

After enduring such a horrendous downpour, you definitely feel the urge to get out of town. The residents of Fable gossip endlessly about how stunning the cherry blossoms are in Kanshi this time of year, and the fairies practically insist that you go.

Upon arrival, you can see that Kanshi has received quite a beating from the storm. The winds and rain have blown cherry blossom petals all over the place - in the streets, rivers, and they're covering the buildings. You can see all sorts of tiny magical creatures making their best efforts to clean up, part of you wonders why they aren't using magic.

You feel a tap on the shoulder, and realise that it's a tiny sakura dragon sitting perched on you.

"Hi," they say, "I hope it's not too much to ask, but ... could you help us out here?"

You did come here to relax, so you may be a little bit hesitant at first. Still, you'll allow the dragon to continue.

"Kanshi normally has a dusting of petals here and there, but this is just too much for us to deal with on our own. If you help us gather petals, we'll offer you free access to our hot springs and restaurants. We'll even use the petals to craft furniture for you."

That's not a bad suggestion. Besides, it would be difficult to enjoy a trip here with petals covering the place. Once you agree to the dragon's request, you are given a fishing net to catch petals on the ground, in the water and in the air.

Finally! It's time to relax. The sakura dragons were true to their word - in addition to the furniture gifted in exchange for the petals you collected, you have access to all of Kanshi's most favoured attractions!

There are incredible restaurants with shiba inu chefs ready to tailor to your every desire! The dining can be enjoyed in outdoor cafés surrounded by flowers, evening restaurants - and even an izakaya (alcohol & food bar) with food and drink available all night. It seems that the residents of Kanshi are very grateful for all the effort taken to clean up their home. If you want to spend the night here, even, the owners of the ryokan (traditional inns) will be glad to accommodate any guests. There are many beautiful wonders all across Kanshi, but one of the most renowned attractions are the hot springs. These incredible buildings feature indoor pools, outdoor waterways and rivers to bathe in which rejuvenates and uplifts anyone who steps in these waters. It's no wonder that creatures travel from all over just to bathe in them!

Let's see what the attractions of Kanshi have in store!

The Flower Cafés are sooooo cute! Situated outside, these charming cafés offer spectacular views of Kanshi's flower fields. All of the food and drinks arrive in incredibly charming pastel colours! (Even the savoury stuff!) Enjoying time in the café while surrounded by all of this pollen will cause a flower to bloom in your hair every time you smile! When they sprout, it's a very ticklish sensation - which might make you smile a lot. This ticklish pollen can be treated with a swim. Good thing there's a hot spring nearby!

The Restaurants have no shortage of incredible food! Whether you would like to order off the set menu, a conveyor belt or destroy all-you-can eat, every option is available. The more food you consume, the more you will feel the urge to open up and talk about yourself. Even things you might not normally be so inclined to tell strangers...!

The Izakaya Bars are the perfect spots for any adults who love good food and good alcohol. There are no innocuous effects from the food and drink ... apart from the house special - cherry plum sake! It is everyone's favourite drink in Kanshi and all-time best seller. Consuming the sake will cause any of the following effects: giggles, excessive compliments, tingly sensations, increased stamina and the urge to overshare your thoughts.

The Hot Springs are beloved by all of Kanshi's locals and beyond. These huge, towering buildings are crafted with wood and feature private indoor pools, outdoor waterfall pools and smaller pools which are connected by streams. In order to allow guests to bathe in peace, the mythological & animal villagers of Kanshi have granted their guests from Fable to have an area all to themselves. They have also provided care packages to the guests! They contain a variety of scented bath salts to choose from. Each salt type has an (undisclosed) effect once in use. The Rose Scented Salts will make someone feel warm, friendly and affectionate. The Vanilla Bean Salts will make someone feel confident and talkative. Their mood will also be enhanced - whether it's a happy kind or melancholic kind. And the Warming Lavender Salts, surprisingly, will give someone the tail and ears of an animal!

You were likely more than aware of the intense storm that happened earlier. Just when you figure that everything is settled, you are interrupted by a group of frantic fairies flittering through Fable's village.

"Quick! Quick! Come with us! You've gotta see it!"

See what, exactly? Once you have the opportunity, you ask these excitable fae why they're in such a hurry.

"There's gonna be an explosion! A magic explosion!" ... Is that even safe?

"You know the storm? The huge storm? Well - a lot of it was magic, you know! The storm spirits created something magnificent to tidy up winter and blow everything away. And then the dragons and unicorns got involved, and they all started playing in the clouds and had a magic fight! This one cloud is so full of magic - it's going to explode! You've got to come and see it! Nothing bad will happen ... we think! But if it does, we'll fix the problem right up with our magic! Promise!"

Can you really trust the fairies to keep their promise...? But a magical explosion does sound pretty cool. Perhaps against your better judgement, you agree to go.

On the mountainside, you see it - a huge looming storm cloud flickering with rainbow colours and streaks of lightning. There are a few dragons flying nearby, with a heavy layer of anticipation in the air. You can hear laughter from the creatures, which might reassure you that you aren't in any real danger. And then--

The cloud EXPLODES with a fantastic BOOM!

You have to admit - it does look pretty incredible! Just as you take a moment to admire the rainbow explosion, the magical shockwaves blast out and phase through you which causes an immediate effect...! Uh oh?!

Depending on which colour of the magical rainbow blast hits you, a different effect will occur:

Being hit with the colour Red will cause you to kiss the person you see next! Oh, my!

Being hit with the colour Orange will transform you into a merperson! Which is great, except ... you can't see any water around here! Maybe someone can carry you to water.

Being hit with the colour Yellow will give you an animal ears and tail of your choice. So cute! But you also feel the urge to follow the instincts and behaviours of said animal to some degree, too.

Being hit with the colour Green will summon enemies for you to fight! Yikes! From the shadows, monsters manifested out of your worst fears will come to life before trying to attack you - you've been given a weapon to defend yourself, but it would be better if you battled them with another person!

Being hit with the colour Blue will make you spontaneously burst into tears. It seems like nothing can stop you from crying, either - but comfort from another will ease the pain.

Being hit with the colour Purple will cause all of your inner thoughts to hover above your head in a thought bubble. Let's hope you aren't thinking of anything too strange at the moment ...

In a standard fairytale way, all effects end at midnight. Those cheeky fairies didn't keep their promise after all!

[Truthfully, Ayaka doesn't put up much resistance when the fairies suggest the trip to her. As soon as they'd mentioned the flowers, she'd been... well, eager isn't perhaps the best word for such a member of the Kamisato clan, but Ayaka had been more than happy to indulge their request. Especially from such a sweet looking creature at that! Plus, the promise of the gathered petals being turned into furniture as a sort of token of remembrance? It's too lovely for Ayaka to resist.

After all, Cherry blossoms are truly lovely to behold. Their lives beautiful, but tragically short. Theses ones especially shortened by the ferocity of the storm. Being able to turn them into something more? There's a practical poetry to it that touches Ayaka's soul.

Of course Ayaka doesn't run to gather petals, it would be unbecoming. Instead she methodically starts to clean moving in straight lines, she's intent on gathering the petals with efficiency and dignity. Only... she's so intent on gathering, that Ayaka doesn't fully paying attention to where she's going or the fact that there are other people about.

Which is how she's managed to bonk someone on the head, while catching a falling petal. Which is horrifying, truly. Startled, Ayaka can only stare with wide eyes for a few moments before breaking into a fairly low bow.]

My sincerest apologies. I have been far too lax in my awareness. I hope you are unharmed?

[Truthfully it's the gentlest of bonks. It's not like she's gathering petals vigorously. Still, Ayaka looks truly upset, clearly very apologetic for doing such an unseemly thing.]

II. A Flower Café

[Now that the little dragons have insisted she's done more than enough, it's finally time to rest. Which to Ayaka means it's time to try some of the local delicacies that are surely only available during the cherry blossom season. Plus, what better way to enjoy the view of the blossoms than while enjoying a lovely cup of tea?

Which is why on the ground by her chair there is a small bag. She's kept a small amount of the blossoms for her own use. While they last, she'd love to try her hand at making things like the tea or the other delicacies one might make with cherry blossoms should you have the skill to do so. Of course, Ayaka isn't skilled enough, but she's willing to try. Maybe it's a skill she can learn now that she's far removed from the responsibilities of her clan. Not that she'd ever willfully shirk on her duties or, archons forbid, leave her clean. But since that's the position she's in currently what else can she do? Feel free to trip over the bag as desired, or just approach the young woman sitting quietly lost in thought even before the flowers have a chance to bloom.

Sipping her tea, she sits in silence watching the view. Eventually, a small contented smile crossing her lips. Which leads to the quietest of giggles.]

Oh!

[One hand goes up to her hair, feeling... is that a flower? Or even several? Startled, the giggles taper off fairly quickly due to her surprise. Turning to a person sitting nearby, she's quite earnest as she asks.]

Excuse me. My apologies for interrupting you, but I was hoping you could answer a question for me?

[But since it's Ayaka, of course she'll wait for permission before even asking them.]

III. The Hot Springs

[Truthfully, Ayaka would have found her way to the Hot Springs even if she hadn't needed their services. But once she's found out that's the only way to stop the flowers on her head from potentially spreading to others, she's even more keen to take a relaxing soak.

Only the choices all sound lovely. How is she to choose? Ayaka stares at the options before turning to a fellow traveler. Usually she'd smile politely, but right now she can only give a small bow in greeting.]

Forgive me for intruding, but I find I'm having trouble deciding which option to choose. Could I trouble you for some assistance?

IV. A Rainsplosion

The snow of yesterday

[Ayaka tries to resist their urging, but she's truthfully too polite to say no. So she finds herself outside after all. The cloud truly looks beautiful in a strange, ethereal way. Is she alone? Or are there people nearby? RNG will be plucked at random, for those interested.]

1. Arrival
[ For someone used to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, a place like this is... kind of surreal, honestly. It's so beautiful here, and so calm, and the air smells of greenery and petrichor and some flower (flowers?) she can't identify.

She's been given a little cottage and there are oranges growing on trees in her yard. This honestly isn't so bad, but it's... kind of lonely, especially after she'd been lucky enough to form a group of friends like the Phantom Thieves.

Spotting someone coming down the path that leads past her cottage, Ann leans against the fence that separates her yard from the road and gives a wave. ]

Hi there. It looks like we're going to be neighbors. I'm Ann!


2. all you can eat
[ She might not look it, but Ann is a big eater, so being given the opportunity to indulge at an all-you-can-eat buffet is a dream come true. Beyond that, watching adorable shiba inus running around and checking on customers, refilling beverages and so on, well... it's just so stinkin' cute! She can hardly stand it.

Anyway, there's room at her table to take a seat, and when you do, she points at something on your plate. ]

What's that? It looks delicious!


3. hot spring episode
[ There's nothing like a relaxing dip in a hot bath after a long day of picking up petals and, perhaps, overindulging a bit at dinner. Ann stretches her legs and sighs as she sinks into the water up to her chin, hair piled up into a messy topknot. Why don't you join her in the steaming spring water? She'll make room for you--she's in an especially good mood, likely due to the rose-scented salts she added to the bath. ]

[Hearing there is going to be a 'magical explosion' is enough for Aether to follow the fairies. People could be in danger or possibly need help, and he knows he has several friends here. As he makes his way, he seems someone very familiar to him.]

Ayaka!

[There's an urgency as he runs towards her, looking to see if she's all right. These explosions could be pranks or something more dangerous. He's hoping it's something silly at she seems all right from what he's seen.]

Are you all right? The fairies mentioned a magical explosion.

[The explosion is, indeed, breathtaking. The display of colours something that Ayaka was unlike to forget anytime soon. The cacophony of colours truly breathtaking. And, at first. That's... seemingly all it is. A beautiful display of light and a strange wash of colour.

She's content to stand for a moment, soaking in the memory of the moment when a familiar voice pierces through and disrupts her musings. The voice of someone she knows fairly well. Or well, she fancies that they're at least relatively good friends at this point.]

Aether.

[Seeing a familiar face - someone she considers an ally and friend no less? It's truly wonderful, especially after seeing such a rare and splendorous sight. As he runs towards her, she walks, at a fairly sedate pace. Befitting of who she is. Because what else is she supposed to do?]

Yes, there was quite a strange display. I'm afraid you missed it, but it was truly a feast for the eyes.

[Ayaka's a little confused by his concern, but she's also touched. Because leave it to the traveler to always be concerned about his friends! But the fairies, they'd said it was unlikely for anything to happen and she felt fine.

Only, it turns out, she's not fine at all. The moment he's close enough she finds she can't help but lean in. Pressing her lips to his ever so lightly before she's pulling back in horror at the way her body moved on it's own. Her eyes wider than they've possibly been, she stares at him in shock for a moment before she starts tripping over herself verbally.]

Oh! I... I'm sorry! My truest apologies Traveler. I don't know what came over me.

[And, for lack of alternatives, in a strange world full of strangers... Ayaka does something else she'd ordinarily never do. She flees. Where Ayaka had been one moment, there is now just a flurry of ice as she turns and runs. Where she's going? She doesn't know. Somewhere that isn't here. Fortunately her dash leaves a not so subtle trail of ice behind her.]

Yeah. I'm fine. I can remove myself from most online situations. ( he starts miming typing on a keyboard for some reason as if this is going to convey "hacking" out of context. ) My dad's probably grateful he let me build my own computer when I was, like, nine.

I'm trying to be less of a menace there, anyway, since my boyfriend's building a following there, ( he adds. this is not part of the story, but he somehow can't help himself from dropping this information. ) But he actually does stuff instead of "react" ( clearly annoyed air quotes. ) to videos. [ The first thing that you learn as the Traveler is that 'home' is not a place. It's the friends you make along the way. No, really.

There's no way to tell how long she's been on the move, hopping from world to world, meeting people and invariably leaving them behind. They never settled down for too long in any one place, or else they wouldn't be travelers anymore, would they? Aether was the only company she had needed. Strange to think how much has changed.

Now she's on another world, and it's cute and comfortable, but it's not home. Not yet, anyway.

Sitting down in her cabin with its spartan décor, she takes out the communication device that was given to her and turns it on to video. ]

Hello. I'm Lumine, and I'm looking for my twin brother. We've been separated for a while now, and I... well, if you've seen someone who looks like me, but has a long braid, please let me know.

[ Boy, that storm sure was something. Now that the weather has settled down again, and Lumine has had a day to look over her own little cottage and make any necessary repairs, she figures it's not a bad idea to see if she can lend a hand to anyone else who might be struggling to do the same. That's why she's approaching you now, in fact! ]

( in his head, he had hoped that would look a lot cooler, but the best neon can do is stumble forward and try to snatch the towel mid-air so he can get to drying himself off, which is the bigger priority here, anyway. ( it doesn't matter how handsome he is, he still does look like a wet dog. ) )

[Aether takes the more cautious approach. Magical explosions? These fairies seem to have the same disposition towards explosions that Klee does - which does not mean explosions aren't dangerous. Actually, magic explosions sound even more dangerous (in a different way). He's dealt with more with their sense of humor and how they'd like to have fun more than once.

So when it does explode, it doesn't look like a normal explosion, but a surge of color. With Hu Tao stating the obvious, he takes her hand and starts running.]

You don't need to ask me twice, these pranks aren't always funny for everyone involved.

[Aether's done his best to avoid the lightning - reading the warning about it. He has a feeling not everyone noticed or just had some bad luck. Most people can't dodge lightening, and this thunderstorm isn't normal at all. It's not like the ones in Inazuma, but he's rather sure there's that fairy magic involved with it.

If it weren't for Aether being careful and alert to his surroundings, he might have missed her. Instead, he notices someone... hiding? In a way that probably wouldn't stop the lightning.]

Are you all right? If you need to get somewhere safe, I can help you.

[Hearing that he missed the explosion first is relief, but then he starts to think about the aftermath and what that means. He knows the fairies here are tricky and have a rather unique take on humor. It seems like they even insist some of their antics are helpful or nice.... Aether does not feel the same.]

I did? Well I hope-[He notices her moving closer, but it doesn't register that she's moving towards him for that reason. He's a little distracted by his own thoughts, too, but that doesn't last long when he he feels she's kissed him.

Oh, she's kissed him.

Before he can fully react, she pulls away. He sees the look on her face and hears the apology. He thinks more about how she's feeling right now rather than how he's feeling. He can only assume she feels embarrassed and really doesn't get the antics of the fae.]

Ayaka!

[He once again calls after her, but she has a head start. She's faster than him when she uses her cyro vision. Luckily for him, he's able to see the traces of ice and use his elemental vision. He keeps chasing her, hoping she doesn't go anywhere dangerous. He's heard about the thunderstorms with lightning. She may be from Inazuma, but this lightning surely is nothing either of them are used to.]

[ That little show of pride makes Alhaitham scoff. Confidence truly suits Kaveh best, even if he's aware that expecting it from the architect at all times is unrealistic. Still, he's sure that they can both rebuild it, one step at a time. Kaveh being assertive about what he wants when they're alone is definitely a good start, though. ]

Less talking? You're doing most of the talking. [ Of course Alhaitham is going to tease him about it and start voicing some of his thoughts. ] Exception is a rather peculiar choice for your petname, but I can indulge you, my dear Exception.

[ As far as the scribe is concerned, Kaveh is the Exception. ]

Kaveh... I'm holding your dick as we speak. [ He even gives it a harder squeeze to make his point. ] And yet, here you are, asking me if I'm comfortable with the idea of making love to you?

[ Alhaitham's intention is to make him realize how ridiculous it sounds. ]

( With a bright blush, he frowns, preparing to lecture Alhaitham about his intentions. Should this be of any surprise? Not really. )

Gods forbid I act considerate ... it's one thing to touch a person with your hands, and it is another thing entirely to have full-on penetrative sex with them ...
